New Warhammer 40,000 Terrain!

The new Warhammer 40,000 Starter Sets are almost here – they’re up for pre-order this weekend! We looked at what’ll you’ll find in each set earlier this week. Still, the most significant differences in the step up from the Elite Edition to the Command Edition are the inclusion of a dedicated gaming board and set of brand-new terrain. Let’s take a look.

First up, the Command Edition includes 12 totally new, modular terrain pieces – perfect for kickstarting or adding to your scenery collection. More specifically, you’ll find:

  • 4x corners of various ruined buildings (two large and two small)
  • 7x fuel pipe sections (which can fit together in any configuration)
  • 1x tall Thermo-exchanger Shrine (designed to straddle the fuel pipes if desired)

What’s more, the terrain set’s constituent components are all push-fit, meaning that no glue is required to assemble them. You’ll have all your scenery built and ready to battle across in no time at all!*

For those of you who already have existing collections of Warhammer 40,000 terrain, you’ll be pleased to know that the terrain in the Command Edition set has been designed to work sympathetically alongside the Sector Imperialis and Sector Mechanicus ranges, too.

The Command Edition also includes a durable, fold-out, double-sided gaming board. On one side, the board features the irradiated wasteland of a forge world, while the other is a ruined moonscape.

One final note, if you want to expand your battlefield and terrain further, remember that you’ll also be able to pre-order the Command Edition Battlefield Expansion Set. When combined with the contents of the Command Edition Starter Set, you can double up to make a battlefield perfect for Combat Patrols or Incursions.

While you’re waiting for the pre-order window to open this weekend, join us on Twitter, Instagram (using #PaintingWarhammer) and the Warhammer 40,000 Facebook page and show us the battlefields you’ve been painting for #New40K!
