From deep underground come the Night Goblins team for Blood Bowl, and they’ve brought Squigs with them. Lots of Squigs!

Night Goblins are known for cackling maniacally, being obsessed with mushrooms, and using moon iconography. You could say they’re a few toadstools short of a cluster, but when it comes to Blood Bowl that can be a blessing.
While their overground cousins rely on secret weapons, and other underground teams use technology or fleshcraft to win games, the Night Goblins have their vicious, bouncy friends, introducing four new positionals – Cave Squigs, Squig Wranglers, Squig Hoppers, and Squig Herders. The kit includes two of each of these, along with six Night Goblin Linemen.
Goblin Linemen might not run rampant on the pitch but they are annoying little critters who are difficult to get hold of with Dodge and Stunty, and also difficult to get away from with Taunt and Shadowing. Cave Squigs and Squig Hoppers both have Pogo, making them pretty mobile, but you’ll need to keep your Squig Herders nearby so they don’t succumb to the ominously-named Squig Rage. Finally, the Squig Wranglers are ST7 Ball & Chain players – what could possibly go wrong?
The Night Goblins are a fun, characterful team that bring a lot of new options to the Blood Bowl pitch. As with any Stunty team, they’ll need a skilful (and lucky) coach to get the best out of them, but if you can control the chaos, you’ll be onto a winner.
Rules for unleashing all this Squiggy goodness can be found in the forthcoming 23rd issue of Spike! Journal.

It’s also packed with background on Night Goblin teams, including the legendary Eight Peaks Loonatics, rules for the spiteful shroom and bat Squig balls that come with the team kit, a coaches’ guide to get the best from your gobbos, and all your favourite regular columns such as Ask Lord Borak and Coffin Corner.
We’ll have more on the Night Goblins – including exactly what Squig Rage is – when they start their pre-match warmups. In the meantime, check out the rest of the reveals from today’s Big Autumn Preview.
