We kicked off the Scourge of Aqshy with free rules for the forces of Order yesterday. Today, it’s the turn of the followers of Chaos – see what the Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch, Hedonites of Slaanesh, Helsmiths of Hashut, Maggotkin of Nurgle, Skaven, and Slaves to Darkness are getting.

There are new rules for each faction, including a mix of warscrolls, prayers, artefacts, enhancements, and heroic traits to give you an edge in your battles in Aqshy.
Blades of Khorne

Blood Warriors are already pretty angry, so just imagine how furious they get in the heat of Aqshy. Actually, you don’t have to imagine – just look at their new Only the Worthy ability, which sees them becoming deadlier when they lose unworthy warriors.

BLOOD WARRIORS
Passive
ONLY THE WORTHY
As the weakest are culled from the Blood Warriors’ ranks, the survivors receive Khorne’s dark blessings, granting them ever greater ferocity and strength.
Effect: The following cumulative effects apply depending on the number of models in this unit that are slain.
1+ Add 1 to charge rolls for this unit.
4+ Add 1 to hit rolls for this unit’s combat attacks.
8+ Add 1 to wound rolls for this unit’s combat attacks.
16+ Double the Attacks characteristic of this unit’s melee weapons and this unit’s combat attacks score critical hits on unmodified hit rolls of 5+.
Of course, the plan isn’t usually to lose 16 Blood Warriors, but Khorne cares not from where the blood flows! In the download, you’ll also receive a new warscroll for Bloodletters, the Proclamations of Murder prayer lore, and the Brazen Mutations enhancements.
Disciples of Tzeentch

Ever been in that position where your Disciples of Tzeentch NEED to cast a spell? Give the Tome of Scorched Insight to one of your Heroes – this Fated Artefact will ensure your sorcerous success.

FATED ARTEFACTS
Reaction: You declared a non-SUMMON Spell ability for this unit
TOME OF SCORCHED INSIGHT
This book is a double-edged gift: it grants incredible arcane prowess but at a steep price, as the book slowly consumes the bearer’s own knowledge of magic.
Effect: Change the casting roll for that spell to a value of 12 that cannot be modified. That spell cannot be unbound and this unit cannot use that Spell ability again for the rest of the battle.
There are also Visions of Fate enhancements, a new warscroll for Screamers of Tzeentch, and the Scourge of Ghyran rules for the Ogroid Thaumaturge arrive in Aqshy. Just as planned.
Hedonites of Slaanesh

The Hedonites of Slaanesh just got a new battletome, and now they’re getting even more new rules – talk about excess! We’ve seen how important objectives are in the new General’s Handbook, so give your units an Obsession with Control from the All-consuming Obsessions enhancements.

ALL-CONSUMING OBSESSIONS
Deployment Phase
OBSESSION WITH CONTROL
Once these Hedonites have acquired the object of their desire, they simply will not relinquish it.
Declare: Pick an objective to be the target.
Effect: For the rest of the battle, while this unit is contesting the target objective:
This unit has WARD (5+).
Add 5 to this unit’s control score.
Choose from The Dark Prince’s Beloved heroic traits, and add Blissbarb Seekers and an Infernal Enrapturess to your army with new warscrolls.
Helsmiths of Hashut

Your Daemonsmith on Infernal Taurus gets a new warscroll that allows them to unleash a Calamitous Shockwave. Working with the new fury and rage mechanics, it leaves enemy units ripe for the slaughter.

DAEMONSMITH
ON INFERNAL TAURUS
Once Per Turn (Army), Any Combat Phase
CALAMITOUS SHOCKWAVE
Rearing up, the Infernal Taurus slams its hooves into the ground, causing the earth around it to buckle and staggering nearby foes.
Declare: Pick up to 3 enemy units in combat with this unit to be the targets.
Effect: Roll a dice for each target. If the roll is lower than your fury level, for the rest of the turn:
The target cannot use the ‘Eruption of Fury’ ability.
When resolving the damage sequence for the target, your opponent cannot spend rage dice as part of the ‘Fight Through the Pain’ ability.
Add 1 to the Rend characteristic of weapons used for attacks that target that enemy unit.
KEYWORDS: RAMPAGE
Hashut has also blessed you with Accursed Devices – enhancements for your war machines – along with Dark Gifts of Hashut artefacts of power and a new warscroll for Anointed Sentinels.
Maggotkin of Nurgle

Usually, Putrid Blightkings have a Discomfiting Stench that affects enemy Wizards and Priests. Yet in Aqshy, these diseased warriors can themselves become Priests, and they can use their fury to enhance their prayers.

PUTRID BLIGHTKINGS
Once Per Battle (Army), Deployment Phase
PUTRESCENT PIETY
Presenting a humble and devout persona to their flock, these Rotbringers seek to spread not only the Garden of Nurgle but also the word of the Grandfather himself.
Effect: This unit has PRIEST (1) for the rest of the battle.
Once Per Turn (Army), Your Hero Phase
DISGUSTINGLY DEVOTED
These Blightkings channel the fury of the Bright Realm to further deepen their faith – rage is not so far removed from despair, after all.
Effect: Spend 1 rage dice. If your opponent’s fury level is lower than yours, they must increase their fury level by 1, to a maximum of 7. Then, give this unit D3 ritual points.
Along with the other Priests in your army, they will be able to chant the new prayers from the Benedictions of Sickness lore. The download also includes a new warscroll for the Sloven Knights and the Plaguefather’s Poxes enhancements.
Skaven

If you were a Master Moulder, what’s the one thing you’d like to do to improve your creations? If you said, “transplant their brains”, you’ll love the Moulder Mutations enhancements.

MOULDER MUTATIONS
Any Hero Phase
TRANSPLANTED BRAINS
The grey matter of various ‘willing’ Moulder volunteers has been grafted onto these mutants’ brains, allowing them to change their personalities in an instant.
Effect: Pick 1 of the following brains. Its effects apply for therest of the turn:
Warpstone Addict’s Brain:
Add 1 to hit rolls for this unit’s combat attacks.
This unit has a maximum control score of 1.
Warlock Whelp’s Brain: Add 10 to this unit’s control score.
Give your Stormfiends the Warpstone Addict’s Brain and smash your way through enemy lines, or endow them with the Warlock Whelp’s Brain and dare your enemy to move you off an objective. The Grey Seer on Screaming Bell warscroll has followed the Skaven from Ghyran, there’s a new one for the Verminlord Corruptor, and you can also choose from the Devious Machinations heroic traits, yes-yes!
Slaves to Darkness

Ever worry you’ve pledged yourself to the wrong Chaos God? Wish you could change your mind during a battle? With the new Brands of the Dark Gods enhancements, you can do exactly that! These unique enhancements can be given to any non-Hero Infantry unit.

BRANDS OF THE DARK GODS
Your Hero Phase
BRAND OF THE UNALIGNED
The warriors bearing this brand are beholden to no single deity; they regularly shift their allegiance depending on which Dark God’s power is in ascendancy.
Effect: Remove all of this unit’s Pledge to Chaos keywords. Then, pick 1 of the following Pledge to Chaos keywords. You cannot pick a keyword you picked for this unit earlier in the battle.
PLEDGED TO KHORNE
PLEDGED TO TZEENTCH
PLEDGED TO NURGLE
PLEDGED TO SLAANESH
This unit has that keyword for the rest of the battle.
Pledge your Chaos Chosen to Khorne when you need even more attacks – especially when using their Heralds of Ruination ability – and pledge them to Nurgle when your elite unit needs even more resilience. There are other brands that make a unit even more killy when your fury level is high, and another that lets you instantly teleport to an objective you control – handy if your enemy is threatening to take it off you.
The Slaves to Darkness download also includes new warscrolls for Chaos Lord on Karkadrak and Chaos Warriors, and Infernal Treasures Artefacts of Power.
That’s just a taste of what awaits you in the free Scourge of Aqshy downloads. Get yours now, and join us tomorrow when we’ll be looking at the forces of Death.
All of these new Scourge of Aqshy rules featured here, and in the other articles this week, will be added to the Warhammer Age of Sigmar App next week.
