Head to Aqshy with the new General’s Handbook

After a year of fighting through the green wilds of Ghyran, it’s time to march to Aqshy – the Realm of Fire – for the new General’s Handbook.

The General’s Handbook 2026-2027 contains rules and battle tactics for Matched Play games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. It’s the battlepack that tournament organisers will use as the basis for event packs for the 2026/27 season.

In the wake of the Hour of Ruin, the fighting has moved to Aqshy, and as war is fought amidst the ashes, warriors feel the rage rise within. To represent the primal anger that the Realm of Fire nurtures in everyone, the General’s Handbook introduces new fury and rage rules.

At the beginning of battle, your forces are slightly pumped up.

As your fury increases, it can lead to an outbreak of unbridled rage.

When you’ve acquired a nice pile of rage dice, you have two choices – use them on the attack to cause more damage in an Eruption of Fury, or use them on defence to Fight Through the Pain.

The General’s Handbook also contains the Core Rules, 12 brand new battleplans, new battle tactics cards, and six bespoke objective markers. There are also rules for launching an Aqshian Crusade – a way to connect your games together into a narrative campaign, which can be used at a tournament or just at home.

There will also be a Warlord Edition available, which includes a game tracker board to keep tabs on your achievements during the game, tokens for use with the tracker, and a red token bag.

The General’s Handbook is your guide to Matched Play in the Mortal Realms. Keep your eyes on Warhammer Community for more news about when it will be available for pre-order, and we might just see the Scourge of Ghyran move to Aqshy in the coming weeks.
