Each faction in Warhammer Age of Sigmar is getting a suite of new rules for use in the new season of war, the Scourge of Aqshy. Our series kicks off with the forces of Order. See what new rules your army receives before they begin their campaigns in the Realm of Fire.

Every faction receives some powerful new rules this season. Depending on your chosen force, Scourge of Aqshy brings you a combination of warscrolls, heroic traits, enhancements, and prayer lores. Some of these interact directly with the new seasonal rules in the General’s Handbook, particularly fury level and rage dice. Others are just new abilities that you can use instead of (or sometimes as well as) the ones in your battletome.
On top of this, many units have also seen their points change, AND the game’s Matched Play battleplans have also all been updated. All in, you’ll definitely want to look again at your army list – there is almost certainly a new combination of units, or a new trick you can bring to the field, to give your army the edge as you battle over the Realm of Fire.
Cities of Sigmar

Even in the Realm of Fire, the wheel ever turns. Pontifex Zenestra has learned a new prayer to chant, which ensures a nearby unit hits harder and can potentially get Sigmar’s protection. AND, if Zenestra should fall in battle (very sad) in a final act of defiance, she can chant a final un-failable version of this Prayer, whose effects last for the rest of the battle! We’re not saying you should TRY to get her killed while she’s conveniently standing next to a reinforced unit of Gallants or a couple of Gate Gargants, but we’re not NOT saying that…

PONTIFEX ZENESTRA
MATRIARCH OF THE GREAT WHEEL
Your Hero Phase
SIGMAR’S BLESSING (5)
Zenestra calls upon the God-King to grant her flock greater strength and protection should they surge into the fray with his name on their lips.
Declare: Pick a visible friendly SIGMARITE unit wholly within 12" of this unit to be the target, then make a chanting roll of D6.
Effect: Until the start of your next turn:
The target’s melee weapons have Charge (+1 Damage).
If the chanting roll was 10+, the target has WARD (5+) if it charged in the same turn.
KEYWORDS: PRAYER
The Alchemite Warforger also gets a new warscroll, while there are new Sentinels of Order heroic traits and the Decorations for Valour, which are a new type of enhancement that you can give to unit Champions to indicate their status as seasoned veterans of Ghyran or Aqshy.
Daughters of Khaine

We’ve seen how the Activate Place of Power ability works with the fury and rage rules in the new General’s Handbook. With one of the Paragons of Murder heroic traits, you can also manifest an Avatar of Khaine at the same time.

PARAGONS OF MURDER
Reaction: This unit used the ‘Activate Place of Power’ ability
MURDER MANIFESTED
This warrior can use sacrificial magics in order to summon avatars of the Bloody‑Handed God.
Effect: Apply the effect below instead of the effect of that ‘Activate Place of Power’ ability.
Roll a dice. On a 1, inflict D3 mortal damage on this unit. On a 2+, if there are no friendly Avatars of Khaine on the battlefield, set up an Avatar of Khaine wholly within 12" of this unit, visible to it and more than 9" from all enemy units. This unit has summoned that MANIFESTATION.
The download also includes the Boons of Shadow enhancements, which are enhancements you can give to non-Hero units, and new warscrolls for the Melusai Ironscale and Khainite Shadowstalkers.
Fyreslayers

Fyreslayers are right at home in the Realm of Fire. Riding atop a Magmadroth, an Auric Runeson knows exactly how and when to unleash the fury and rage of their mount.

AURIC RUNESON
ON MAGMADROTH
Once Per Turn (Army), Any Combat Phase
SEEING RED
As it reaches boiling point, the hot-blooded Magmadroth lets loose a furious bellow that serves either as a precursor to a violent rampage or as a means to therapeutically vent its rage.
Effect: Spend 1 rage dice. If your opponent’s fury level is lower than yours, they must increase their fury level by 1, to a maximum of 7. Then, pick 1 of the following effects:
Channelled Ire: Add 1 to the Attacks characteristic of this unit’s Companion melee weapons for the rest of the turn.
Cathartic Release: Roll a number of dice equal to your fury level. For each 4+, Heal (1) this unit.
Shield of Anger: This unit has WARD (5+) for the rest of the turn.
KEYWORDS: RAMPAGE
The new Marks of Vulcatrix enhancements open up even more options for your Magmadroths. There’s also the new Vulkyn Gifts prayer lore and a warscroll for Vulkyn Flameseekers.
Idoneth Deepkin

In the wilds of Aqshy, the Idoneth Deepkin have discovered a variety of new Ethersea Companions. Non-Hero units can choose from Ironshell Barnacles for protection or the confusion-spreading Aqshian Sea Nettles. Our favourite is the Stonefoot Anemone, for when you want to keep an enemy unit just where it is.

ETHERSEA COMPANIONS
Your Movement Phase
STONEFOOT ANEMONE
The toxins in this creature’s sting render foes briefly immobile.
Declare: Pick a visible enemy unit within 12" of this unit to be the target.
Effect: Roll a dice. On a 3+, the target cannot use MOVE abilities for the rest of the turn.
You can also select from the Champions of the Tides heroic traits, while there are new warscrolls for the Isharann Tidecaster and Namarti Reavers.
Kharadron Overlords

Endrinriggers are known to be completely focused on repairing their fleet’s skyvessels. Woe betide anyone who interrupts them while they’re busy in the Realm of Fire.

ENDRINRIGGERS
Once Per Turn (Army), Your Hero Phase
WE’RE WORKING HERE!
Burdened with the dangerous job of repairing skyvessels on the move, an Endrinrigger wants nothing more than to focus on the task in hand; engaging them in combat is a surefire way to garner their anger.
Effect: Until the start of your next turn, if this unit has not charged in the same turn, the following cumulative effects apply depending on your fury level.
1+ Irked: This unit’s Aethermatic Saws have Crit (Auto-wound).
4+ Exasperated: This unit has WARD (5+).
7 Incensed: Add 1 to the Damage characteristic of this unit’s melee weapons.
The Null-Khemist also gets a new warscroll, turning him into one of your army’s most reliable anti-magic tools. Three useful new Artycle References are enhancements that bolster Infantry units, with Artycle 20, Amendment 2 combining particularly well with the already bolstered Endrinriggers. And those industrious duardin have also brought along three new Ingenious Innovations – Artefacts of Power available for your Heroes.
Lumineth Realm-lords

To survive a trek into the Realm of Fire, one must master the art of the duel. With the Facets of Brilliance heroic traits, you can name one of your warriors as a Peerless Swordsman.

FACETS OF BRILLIANCE
Any Combat Phase
PEERLESS SWORDSMAN
This warrior’s skill with their favoured weapon is such that deflecting even the most grievous of blows is as child’s play to them.
Declare: Pick an enemy unit with a starting size of 1 that is in combat with this unit to be the target, then pick 1 of this unit’s non-Companion melee weapons to be the parrying blade.
Effect: Roll a number of dice equal to the Attacks characteristic of the parrying blade. For each 3+, subtract 1 from the Attacks characteristic of the target’s non‑Companion melee weapons for the rest of the turn. In addition, for each 5+, inflict 1 mortal damage on the target.
KEYWORDS: CORE, ATTACK, FIGHT
This would work well with the loreseeker blade of a Scinari Loreseeker and its 5 attacks. The Loreseeker also gets a new warscroll, as does the Alarith Stonemage, while your non-Hero, non-Monster units can also select from Flawless Manoeuvres enhancements.
Seraphon

While many warriors in Aqshy succumb to the inherent rage of the realm, Saurus Scar-Veterans on Aggradons may be bellicose but they still know how to set traps for their foes. With cold-blooded precision, they appear where the enemy least suspects and tear them apart.

SAURUS SCAR VETERAN
ON AGGRADON
Once Per Battle (Army), Deployment Phase
THE HUNT BEGINS
The Scar-Veteran leads a cohort of mounted Seraphon in outflanking the enemy.
Declare: Pick this unit and up to 1 friendly SERAPHON CAVALRY unit if those units have not been deployed.
Effect: Set up that friendly CAVALRY unit in reserve stalking the prey. Then, either set up this unit in reserve stalking the prey or set up this unit wholly within friendly territory and more than 9" from enemy territory. Those units have now been deployed.
KEYWORDS: DEPLOY
Your Movement Phase
SAURIAN AMBUSH
Scar‑Veterans are feared across the Mortal Realms for their swift, silent and utterly merciless ambushes.
Declare: Pick each friendly unit that is v to be the targets.
Effect: Set up the targets on the battlefield wholly within 7" of the battlefield edge and more than 9" from all enemy units.
Enhance your Monsters with Beasts of the Dark Jungle Monstrous Traits, choose from Servants of the Cosmic Order heroic traits, and ensure everything goes to plan with a new warscroll for the Slann Starmaster.
Stormcast Eternals

The God-King sends his chosen forces into the Realm of Fire after blessing them with the Artefacts of the Tempest. Choose the Pennant of Azyrite Majesty to tap into the arcane power of Aqshy while suppressing the sorcerous ability of a selected foe.

ARTEFACTS OF THE TEMPEST
Start of Any Turn
PENNANT OF AZYRITE MAJESTY
This banner pulses with celestial energies; to look upon it is to be either empowered by or overwhelmed by the glory of Sigmar and the heavens.
Declare: Pick a visible enemy unit within 18" of this unit to be the enemy target, then you can pick a friendly STORMCAST ETERNALS unit wholly within 12" of this unit to be the friendly target.
Effect: Spend 1 rage dice. If your opponent’s fury level is lower than yours, they must increase their fury level by 1, to a maximum of 7.
Then, for the rest of the turn, while it is visible to this unit:
Subtract 1 from casting rolls and chanting rolls for the enemy target.
Add 1 to casting rolls and chanting rolls for the friendly target.
Stormcast Eternals players can also use new warscrolls for Stormstrike Palladors, a returning Scourge of Ghyran warscroll for Iridan the Witness, and the Scars of War enhancements.
Sylvaneth

Finally, the Sylvaneth bring the creeping undergrowth across the Great Parch. Alarielle ensures her people continue to sing their spirit-song, even as the rage and fury grow, thanks to the Amulet of Resonance – one of the Relics of Nature Artefacts of Power.

RELICS OF NATURE
End of Any Turn
AMULET OF RESONANCE
This charm serves to amplify the spirit-song, ensuring it cuts through even the most furious tumult of battle.
Declare: If this unit used the ‘Eruption of Fury’ ability this turn or you spent rage dice as part of the ‘Fight Through the Pain’ ability when resolving the damage sequence for this unit this turn, give 1 ritual point to each visible friendly SYLVANETH PRIEST wholly within 12" of this unit.
The Sylvaneth also gain access to the Aspects of the Deepwoods enhancements, and new warscrolls for Kurnoth Hunters with Greatswords and the Treelord Ancient.
