The Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon box is the headline release for the game’s 11th edition, but there’s even more coming out. See what else you can get at the dawn of the new edition.
Warhammer 40,000: Combat Patrol Companion
The Combat Patrol Companion is an introductory guide to the world of Warhammer 40,000, packed with piles of background lore on the galaxy and the factions warring over it, evocative artwork, and quick hobby tips and guidance for playing your first games of Combat Patrol.

It’s designed to be the perfect starting point for new builders, painters, and players, but also has a wealth of content for seasoned veterans who want a quality book that covers all aspects of their hobby. There has, quite frankly, never been a better book for showing someone exactly why Warhammer 40,000 is as awesome as it is.
This 184-page book is split between a general overview of the Warhammer hobby and key concepts useful for new players – which can be used in concert with an upgraded Warhammer 40,000 app to play games of Combat Patrol – and an expansive guide to the setting and each of the armies you can play. Even if you’re just getting it for the lore, it’s a lavishly presented book full of fantastic artwork and all the grim darkness you know and love.
Warhammer 40,000: Terrain Area Set
With the new rules for terrain and objectives shaking up how your battlefields look and function, it helps to have a set of standardised terrain area footprints on hand to make setup simple.

The Terrain Area Set includes 16 double-sided card templates that can recreate all of the official terrain maps for the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. Spread across 5 different sizes and shapes, they can be layered with any terrain features you have on hand to create interesting battlefields with clearly defined objectives, and they’re easy to transport to boot.
In addition to these two, the Core Rulebook, Chapter Approved Mission Deck, and Dominatus Deck from the Armageddon box will also be getting standalone releases, so you can get right into the new edition even if you don’t pick up one of the incredible launch boxes. The Core Rulebook even has a variant cover, sporting an Ultramarine instead of the Blood Angel on the original,* while the card decks have different boxes, but the contents are the same.

All of these goodies will be up for pre-order just after Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, so keep an eye trained on Warhammer Community for more info.
* We all know how much the Ultramarines love rules.
