Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

Start the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 with a bang, featuring miniatures, rules, lore, and more. The huge horde of Orks has swelled in the wake of Ghazghkull Thraka’s return to Armageddon, and the Space Marines have launched Operation Imperator to turn the tide before Imperial resistance crumbles.

The box is so packed that we’re going to need a fair few bullet points to list it all (dakka points, if you will):

  • 23 brand new push-fit Space Marines

  • 38 brand new push-fit Orks

  • Conveniently sized Core Rules booklet

  • Armageddon: Operation Imperator lore book

  • Chapter Approved 2026-27 Mission Deck

  • Dominatus Narrative Campaign Deck

  • Armageddon datasheet cards

  • Armageddon transfer sheet

This truly is a box for all fans of Warhammer 40,000, with updates to classic miniatures for veterans of the game, plus some brand new ideas from the Mekboy’z workshop.

Captain with Relic Shield

Leading the Space Marines is a fresh new update on the Captain carrying a relic shield, with a more dynamic pose that shows he’s really in the heart of the action. He’s an excellent front-line fighter who can go toe-to-toe with any Ork, and slice them to bits with a master-crafted power sword.

Librarian

Librarians are the masters of psychic assault, and our newest inductee is depicted channelling power along a hefty force staff – a potent psychic focus and a lethal weapon.

Chaplain with Jump Pack

We got our first look at the Chaplain with Jump Pack recently, and he’s no less awesome on a second viewing. His speed and fiery oratory make him the perfect leader for your Vanguard Veterans, and he’s a deadly close combat warrior in his own right.

Ancient

This new Ancient proudly bears the Armageddon banner aloft. It’s packed with sculpted detail but also features an open space for freehand designs or Chapter transfers. This characterful miniature is great for holding down the fort, and makes it easier for your Intercessors to contest objectives.

Intercessor Squad

The rank and file of the Space Marine Chapters now sport helmets and plating taken from other marks of power armour – a necessary patch-job as the endless wars take their toll on both men and materiel. They feature several narrative poses, including reloading, using an auspex, and throwing a grenade. Intercessors have good shooting output and decent melee, and they can be really effective when joined by a Character.

Vanguard Veterans

Close combat specialists equipped with jump packs to rocket them across the battlefield, Vanguard Veterans are among the finest assault troops available to the Space Marines. They can be a deadly spear thrust aimed right at enemy commanders, or absolutely blend infantry that wrongly thinks it's claimed a critical objective.

Eradicator Squad with Heavy Bolters

Equipped with heavy Mk X Gravis armour, Eradicators wade through enemy firepower carrying some of the most destructive weapons that Space Marines can lift. These new variants are equipped with heavy bolters for maximum horde-killing power – perfect for all of those Orks – and can cut down swathes of enemy warriors with every burst.

Land Speeder

The original Space Marine anti-grav attack craft returns with a sleek update. The Land Speeder now combines the best of its regular, Tornado, and Typhoon variants together into a hunter-killer bristling with weapons that burn infantry, melt vehicles, and blow the remains to pieces.

Closer look at the Space Marines

You’ve seen a few pictures now, but if you want to learn more about the Space Marine side of the box, check out our in-depth look.

Warboss

Da biggest and greenest Ork in the mob is the Warboss, and few can match their brute strength and savagery in close combat. Their enormous kustom choppas can bisect a Space Marine in one swing, and any Orks they’re leading fight all the harder knowing the eye of the boss is on them.

Bigboss

For all their power, the Warboss can’t be everywhere at once, so Bigbosses act as their eyes and ears (and fists). It’s their job to keep the rowdy Boyz in line, and like any Ork, they’re always ready to start chopping heads off with their enormous, two-handed big choppas.

Bannernob

Orks are superstitious by nature, and many place a near-religious significance on the biggest and most impressive Waaagh! banners their horde carries into battle. These crude icons are often held by Bannernobs – experienced veterans of the Waaagh! who have doubtlessly killed a whole pile of rivals to get the job.

Painboy

Orks are infamous for their resilience and ability to heal from grievous wounds, but when they need some serious surgery to survive, Painboyz are only too happy to oblige. Half sawbones, half mad scientist, Painboyz invariably kill as many Orks as they save, but their ability to staple arms and heads back on to continue the fight is prized by even the most suspicious of Orks.

Weirdboy

In typical Ork fashion, those ‘gifted’ Oddboyz who can channel a measure of psychic power are pushed to the extreme without regard for their safety. They often end up exploding their own heads and those around them, but sometimes their emerald lightning and acidic vomit melt right through an enemy or 10 – a win-win situation for most Orks, who see either outcome as hilarious.

Boyz

By far the most numerous kind of Ork, Boyz are crude fighters who mob together in great hordes and stampede their way across the battlefield. They were once forced to choose between shoota and choppa, but now they’ve worked out how to use BOTH, meaning they can get stuck in at any range.

Gretchin

Gretchin are (almost) the lowest of the low in Ork society, and when pressed onto the battlefield they skulk about trying to take a few potshots whenever it’s safe to raise their heads. These new Gretchin – also known as Grots – are a fantastic callback to classic kits.

Wartrakk

The Wartrakk is an update of a much-loved classic kit. Though rickety and cobbled-together, they offer vital fire support to big green hordes with their powerful rokkit launchers, and their speed means you can get those rokkits just where you need them.

Big Mek Dakkarig

A new contraption from deep within the Big Mek’s workshop, the Dakkarig is a thunderous walking weapon platform that carries its insane inventor into battle, blasting enemies of all kinds with its rotating blitzcannon. It’s a brand new addition to the Orks roster, and the perfect centrepiece for a new force starting with the Armageddon boxed set.

Everything else in the box

The new Core Rules book comes in a handy-size format that makes it much easier to carry around and reference. It’s been laid out with new referencing numbers so you can find rules more quickly and keep the game rolling. An updated Chapter Approved 2026-27 mission deck makes it quick and easy to set up exciting games of Warhammer 40,000, containing mission cards, deployment cards, and other tools to aid with your mission-making, as well as twists and tweaks that help keep the game balanced and competitive.

New for Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon and the 11th edition, the Dominatus deck adds a randomised campaign system to the core game, where you’ll be completing Agendas and capturing vital locations while your units level up and gain powerful upgrades. Finally, there’s a new transfer sheet, packed with glyphs for Ork clans and Space Marines Chapter symbols, datasheet cards for the units in the box, and a construction guide.
