It’s been a long time coming, but we can finally say it’s here – a plastic, Warhammer 40,000-scale Thunderhawk Gunship.

Well, almost. What you do get is an awesome new piece of Warhammer terrain:

The Thunderhawk Impact Site includes four highly detailed pieces of terrain, so you can shake up your regular games by fighting over themed objectives that provide plenty of cover to infantry and vehicles alike.

If you’re nostalgia-inclined like us you’ll get some wistful memories of the classic Battle for Macragge set’s crashed Aquila lander

The Thunderhawk Gunship in question is Chapter-agnostic, so you can paint it in the colours of your friend’s favourite Space Marines and have a good giggle about how you shot it down before the game even began! Alternatively, if you’re feeling magnanimous, you could paint it in the colour of your own Chapter, and fight off the traitors, heretics, and xenos trying to steal the secrets in the wreckage. Either way, it’s a great canvas to test your weathering skills, in particular.

The release of the Thunderhawk Impact Site is still a way off in the future, but before then you can catch a few shots of it in the upcoming Codex: Space Marines. Speaking of which, we have a few more reveals for the Angels of Death landing later today, so pop back in a few hours!
