The rules changes coming in the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 – especially the new detachment system – mean that some existing rules need a tweak or two. These updates will come in a new series of Faction Packs, and the first set is for the mighty Space Marines.

Rules Updates
Several datasheets have had a few tweaks here and there to bring them into compliance with the new edition’s rules, most notably Aircraft. The Stormhawk Interceptor and Stormtalon Gunship now function fully as aircraft, appearing and disappearing through ingress moves as they make their attack runs, while the Stormraven Gunship loses the AIRCRAFT keyword so it can function more effectively as a hovering transport.
Some Characters that formerly had the Leader ability have now had it swapped with the Support ability, so you don’t need a special rule to say an Apothecary can accompany your prized Captain. All varieties of Ancient, Apothecary, and Lieutenant are now Support units, with the exception of the Lieutenant with Combi-weapon who’s still too much of a cool loner to work with his brothers.*
