The release of Codex: Space Marines isn’t far away, so it’s about time we showed off the book. Sorry, books – there are three different options!
Codex: Space Marines will be available in a regular softback and Special Edition hardback versions, packed to the gills with background lore, artwork, and army rules. The third variant is for true Adeptus Astartes megafans – a glorious Limited Edition.
The front cover is quite special. We’ve done metal details on book covers before – like last year’s Era of Ruin anthology – but this Codex uses a magnetic panel to let you choose your emblem of choice from between the Ultramarines, Raven Guard, Iron Hands, Imperial Fists, Salamanders, or White Scars. You get all six, so you can swap them out whenever you like.
You also get some other incredible goodies, like a metal Crux Terminatus finished in an antique bronze effect so you can show off your service to the Emperor and earn the right to pilot Terminator armour.* To top it off, the Limited Edition Codex includes six art prints and the complete Space Marines Command Pack, so you’ll get the tokens and reference cards you need.
The Special Edition version of the Codex, meanwhile, comes with a wraparound hardback cover showing elements of a Space Marine fortress monastery on the inside. The outer cover is embossed with gold foil details, and the whole thing includes printed page edges and a ribbon page marker so you can keep tabs on your favourite detachment or datasheet.
All three Codexes contain the same content inside, filling a whopping 232 pages with extensive background information on the Space Marines, their organisation, and the units that make up their armies, as well as multiple hobby guides to help you collect and construct the force of your dreams.
