The fate of Hive Death Mire stands on a knife-edge – if the Imperium wins, it becomes a beacon of hope for a beleaguered planet and a staging post to strike out from. If the Orks win, another critical domino falls on the path to global domination. Now, YOU can join the fight.
Hive Death Mire is part of the Volcanus theatre in the region Armageddon Prime. Wazdakka Gutsmek has led his Speedwaaagh! against the hive while the legendary Commissar Yarrick is in charge of its defences. As Space Marines from scores of different Chapters arrive as part of Operation Imperator and Orks are drawn by the prospect of a good fight, the next few weeks will determine the fate of Death Mire.
Between now and 13 July, your games of Warhammer 40,000 will decide what happens to this vital hive. Each week, you’ll be fighting for a key location – starting with the central part of the Tempestor Victorum line that runs around the outskirts of the hive. Will you launch into one of the breaches? Rain down artillery from your dug-in gun emplacements? Or just smash your way through with a Stompa?
To take part in the global battle, simply report the result online. If you grabbed a copy of Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, this is an ideal excuse to get your new miniatures built and out onto the tabletop. But you don’t NEED a copy of the Armageddon box to join in. You’ll be able to use any faction, but you will need to dedicate any victory to either the Orks or Space Marines,* and you can only log one result per week online. The campaign runs for three weeks, and you’ll need a My Warhammer account to take part.
We’ll announce the results each week, and the winning side will be rewarded with a new model reveal. At the end of the campaign, the winners will get a brand-new detachment, and the fate of Death Mire will become official Warhammer 40,000 lore.
You can also join the battle in your local Warhammer store, and take part in the fight for a fourth location – the Gallows Spaceport. The conflict for this secondary battle zone will last the whole campaign, as both sides seek to gain control of this important site to bring in fresh reinforcements.
