New starter sets for budding Warhammer hobbyists are on the way, from complete boxes with two starter armies to new sets that bundle together starter tools, paints, and a Combat Patrol force.
Warhammer 40,000: Starter Set

Launch right into the world of Warhammer 40,000 with the new Starter Set, containing a complete game in a box. You get two Combat Patrol armies – one each for the Space Marines and Orks – a pair of battlefield boards and terrain to fill it, dice, rulers, a full Core Rulebook, a Starter Set Handbook that eases you into the game, and reference sheets to help you remember key rules.
Warhammer 40,000: Introductory Set

If you want to experience a little of everything Warhammer 40,000 has to offer in one package, the new Introductory Set is the place. You get a Space Marine Lieutenant, five Intercessors, an Ork Nob, and five Boyz – all first available in the Introductory Set – plus six paints, a playmat, a set of card terrain, a starter brush, a range ruler, and six dice. You’ll also find a 48-page handbook covering beginner concepts from playing a small game to painting your miniatures.
Warhammer 40,000 – miniatures and paint sets
A new series of paint sets are perfect for those taking their first steps into the Warhammer hobby, with each including a handful of miniatures and a curated selection of paints to get started.

The Space Marines: Intercessors + Paints set gives you two bolt rifle-wielding Angels of Death with six paints based around the classic Ultramarines scheme seen on the box art, while the Orks: Boyz + Paints set includes two Boyz and a Gretchin with enough paints to do them up as members of the Goff clan.

Finally, the Warhammer 40,000: Paints + Tools set contains a set of useful beginner tools – a brush, a pair of clippers, and a mouldline remover – with 13 Warhammer Colour paints to cover a wide variety of applications, from armour and metal to flesh and cloth.
Warhammer 40,000 – Getting Started Sets

Two new Getting Started sets are great ways to start your Warhammer journey, with each one including a full Combat Patrol force plus 11 paints, a brush, a texture spreader, and an introductory booklet for the faction. You can pick from either the Space Marines or the Orks, with each being made up of push-fit miniatures so you don’t need glue to get going.

This Week on Warhammer TV
This week, Deep Strike goes behind the scenes of the Warhammer TV animation Sigmar’s Toll to find out how the grim tale was born, while Battle Report also ventures to the Mortal Realms for a showdown between the Hedonites of Slaanesh and the Ossiarch Bonereapers.

Meanwhile, Painting Desk sits down with the inimitable Richard Gray – winner of two Slayer Swords at Golden Demon and regular podium finisher for over 25 years – to talk all about painting. If you’ve ever thought of entering Golden Demon yourself, or are curious how it feels to stand among the many hobbyists there, this is one to watch.
Here at Warhammer Community, we’re taking a close look at the new starter sets, and have another big reveal for one of the factions seen at last week’s Big Summer Preview. Come back tomorrow to find out what it is…
