The forces of Mordor are on the march, and their hordes of Orcs are getting a brand-new multipart plastic kit – get your first look at the vicious creatures.
Bulk out your Evil army with a set of 24 new Orc Warriors, equipped with a selection of weapons and wargear. The kit is packed with interchangeable parts, making it easy to customise your warband – there are eight different styles of hand weapons (including swords, maces, and picks) and eight different shields for your first 16 Orcs, while the other eight can be assembled with spears or two-handed weapons.
Four Orcs can also have their weapons swapped with a bow to add a little ranged firepower to your masses, and some have head options, offering even more options to personalise your miniatures.
As well as being available separately, these Mordor Orc Warriors also form the centrepiece of a new Mordor-themed Battlehost army box.
In addition to 24 Orcs, you also get six speedy Warg Riders and the terrifying Witch-King of Angmar in both his mounted and on-foot incarnations. This Battlehost is all about aggressively overrunning your opponent’s warriors and pinning them down with masses of Orcs while the Wargs shred their flanks and the Witch-King smashes anyone and anything put in front of him.
If these new miniatures have you itching to take the forces of Mordor on campaign, you’re in luck, as the fun and engrossing Battle Companies game mode returns with a newly updated rules manual.
If you’re unfamiliar, Battle Companies is a campaign-focused game mode that sees your force upgrade and improve as they embark on expeditions, earning Gold and Influence to spend on new wargear and bonuses. Each warrior becomes a living record of their victories, injuries, and perhaps an unfortunate end, while the most experienced and successful may even end up becoming a Hero in their own right.
There’s also a new narrative campaign, which is the perfect way to start your first Battle Companies experience. It’s a great way to shake up your usual Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game matches, and will create stories that you’ll remember into the next age.
