The flashiest, snazziest Ork Warboss in the galaxy is back, with an incredible new miniature AND a debut in a hugely anticipated new Warhammer 40,000 computer game.
Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub, the galaxy’s greatest Bad Moon and undisputed second best Warboss in the universe, returns to Warhammer 40,000 with a glorious new miniature, set to feature in the upcoming Codex: Orks.

The phrase “glow up” gets thrown around a lot these days, but oh boy, this new Nazdreg is one glorious update – taking the classic 2nd edition miniature and updating every single element while retaining enough nostalgic flourishes to please a gnarly old runtherd. For example, check out the nods to the original in the kneepads, gutplate and banner:

His updated dakka is particularly noteworthy. On his right arm, Nazdreg’s mega armour sports the Kustom Blasta X, the latest and current favourite addition to his personal arsenal of high-dakka, super-killy kannons.
The banner on his back is also suitably impressive. The Bad Moon is still proudly flown, along with various glyphs of conquest and kunnin’.

Even though Nazdreg hasn’t had a model release this century, he has still been an ever-present force within the lore of Warhammer 40,000.
We know, for example, that he has periodically aligned himself with Ghazgkhull Thraka, first on Piscina IV, and later at Armageddon. He’s also variously tangled with an assortment of Imperial forces and even enjoyed a shootout with the Farsight Enclaves.
In games of Warhammer 40,000, Nazdreg is a powerhouse in both shooting AND combat, as well as bringing some useful tools to the battle.

His Kustom Blasta X has three shooting profiles, and unlike most combi-style weapons, he can fire with ALL three at once. And, incredibly for an Ork, he hits on a 4+. AND he can shoot it in combat.
His main melee weapon, the claw Moonchewa, boasts a formidable statline, with Cleave and Damage 3, making it great at chopping through elite squads of enemy infantry – Chaos Chosen and Custodes beware.
He also lets his unit Deep Strike, can make nearby units auto-pass battleshock, has a reactive move, ignores cover and can make a unit riled up (meaning they act as if the Waaagh! has been called that turn).
Basically, he’s great.
And it’s not only the tabletop where Nazdreg will be stomping into battle.
We can confirm today that Nazdreg will be one of the key characters that you can battle with, and against, when the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 40,000 game launches. Nazdreg will feature heavily in some of the early in-game narrative, in events that tie in to the ongoing pivotal battles around Armageddon.
Here’s a shot from the game of Nazdreg in his element, happily pulling apart some luckless ’umies.

The Nazdreg miniature will be released alongside Codex: Orks in a few week’s time.
You can add Total War: Warhammer 40,000 to your Steam wishlist, now.
