The new Cities of Sigmar battletome is available for pre-order tomorrow, along with a host of stunning new miniatures. With so many new units on their way, not all of the older options are in the new battletome. For those stalwart defenders of the Cities of Sigmar whose armies may include such units, we’ll be releasing a free battletome supplement.

The battletome supplement will cover many of the aelven and duardin units that featured in previous Cities of Sigmar rosters, along with some human options, such as Steam Tanks, Battlemages on Griffons, and Flagellants.
You’ll be able to download the battletome supplement soon, and it will be considered fully legal for the duration of the next General’s Handbook (which is due to launch next month), giving you plenty of time to build up your new forces, while still enjoying a year of gaming with your existing army.
After that time, these older units will move to Legends, so you can still play with them, but they won’t be considered part of the game for things like official Warhammer tournaments. Some of the miniatures will leave the range, though many have found a home in the Warhammer: The Old World.

That is not the ONLY way to add aelves and duardin to your Cities of Sigmar force. The new battletome also comes with an Army of Renown that allows units of Lumineth and Fyreslayers to march to battle alongside your human soldiers. In fact, the Army of Renown deliberately rewards you for combining these units into a combined-arms force.

FORCES OF ORDER
Passive
The soldiers who stand shoulder to shoulder against the evil ravaging the Mortal Realms are hardy and bold, and they take strength from their shared bonds of fellowship.
Effect: While 3 friendly ALLIES OF THE FREE CITIES units are wholly within 12" of each other and 1 of those units has the AELF keyword, 1 of those units has the DUARDIN keyword and 1 of those units has the SIGMARITE keyword:
Those units have WARD (5+) against shooting attacks.
Add 3 to those units’ control scores.
Add 1 to wound rolls for those units’ combat attacks.
Unleash the forces of the free cities when Battletome: Cities of Sigmar goes on pre-order tomorrow, and keep your eyes peeled for the battletome supplement, which will be free to download right here on Warhammer Community soon.
