Warhammer 40,000 rules reveal – Shoot from the saddle with Inquisitor Kroyle and Intranzia Fraye

It has been a busy week for Warhammer 40,000 rules reveals as we gear up to the release of Armageddon: The Return of Yarrick. Today we’re looking at Intranzia Fraye of the Adepta Sororitas and Imperial Agent  Inquisitor Kroyle.

All good commanders know an elevated position is the best place from which to lead your army, and both of these characters have taken their own strange and deadly mounts to the battlefield.

The Dogmata Superior thunders into battle on the wonderfully named Throne of Blame – a mighty walking contraption, bristling with guns and packing some hefty bulk to keep the heretics at bay.* The searing arsenal built into her ride combines the holy trinity of bolt, flame and melta, letting her wipe out large mobs of lesser foes and a few light vehicles for good measure.

That her Righteous Denunciations alone will cause enemies to cower before her should come as no surprise, as she’s risen to the top of an order dedicated to harsh judgment of the unworthy. She can even decree an opponent’s unit Judged for Execution, causing her fellow Sisters to redouble their fury and blaze away with supreme conviction.

Now Inquisitor Kroyle, he’s all about one thing – the hunt. Orks all over Armageddon? Let’s hope they brought some good leaders for the trophy room. A zippy 12” Movement and the Lone Operative rule mean he can avoid fights that aren’t on his terms, while the impressive 36” range on his strange xenos rifle keeps him out of harm’s way.**

The Jindarii tox-cycler is a wonder of a sniping weapon, with Precision, Heavy and Anti-Monster 2+ all packed into a single gun that gets stronger every time you hit something – reaching the highest highs of Damage 6 and as much Strength as you can amass at its peak. He’s not at all selfish with the intel he gathers, though, and friendly BATTLELINE units around him can benefit from his ranging shots to hit better provision themselves when the Order for On My Signal, Fire! makes its way down the trenches.

That’s the last of the unit rules to reveal this time, so all that remains is to pick up your favourites when they go up for pre-order soon. We’re not quite done with Armageddon yet here at Warhammer Community, though, so come back on Monday, where we’ll be taking a first look at the new Detachments from Armageddon: The Return of Yarrick.

* It’s also a lot more comfortable than bouncing around in the back of a Rhino.

** As best he can, anyway. Harm is never far in the 41st Millennium.
