Fans of ploughing into fights at rocket speed will like today’s rules reveal, as we take a quick look at Wazdakka Gutsmek.

Wazdakka leads his Speedwaaagh! by example, and his example is an outrageous one to follow. Atop his mighty warbike Big Revva, he’s a real force of nature with the toughness of a Trukk, the firepower of a Dakkajet, and the choppiness of a Deff Dread rolled into one intensely fast package.

An Ork so obsessed with speed would be mighty disappointed if all he could do is go in a straight line super fast, so thankfully Wazdakka’s Throttlerokkit Shokka Engine can do three different kinds of speed. Pulse Jet is ded quick, while Shokk Attack Engine makes you disappear – ideal for combining with the Deep Strike rule to come back. Both are great ways of getting your extra killy Bikeboss into position, ready for him to hit the Turbo Engine and crash right into close combat when the time is right.
Setting him up for that big charge is a doddle, because he’s got the Lone Operative ability. Think about it – people can’t shoot him from more than 12” away, and he can move 14” before he even thinks about Advancing and Charging. They really won’t know what hit them (Spoilers: it’s a really big grabba dragga klaw and a whole lot of bike).

Even Wazdakka Gutsmek can’t take on armies alone, though, so he makes sure to bring his best Warbikers along for the great Speedwaaagh! by giving them the BATTLELINE keyword. That means you can have twice as many in your army as before – which is almost enough dakka by some metrics* – and they can also perform some important actions in certain missions. Boyz are out, 36 Warbikers are in!**
In case you needed any more convincing, there’s even a new Speedwaaagh! Detachment in the upcoming Armageddon: The Return of Yarrick expansion, which, among other things, has a rule that lets your bikes and buggies blast forwards up to 24” – provided they can do it in a perfectly straight line. We’ll be taking a closer look at these detachments here on Warhammer Community soon, so stay tuned.

The Imperium is bringing out some fast new hardware of its own to tackle Wazdakka’s horde. If you want to see what the new vehicles and Commissar Graves’ sleek ride*** can do, check back with us later this week.
* This is a barefaced lie, you can always have more dakka. Might we recommend a Boomdakka Snazzwagon?
** Boyz are absolutely not out. There are even some new ones coming in the Armageddon launch box for the next edition!
*** That’s Vigilance to you, soldier!
