Sunday Preview – March out with the Cities of Sigmar

Next week’s a big one for the mortal followers of the God-King, as a swathe of new Cities of Sigmar releases arrive for pre-order – including the jaw-dropping Cogfort.

Battletome: Cities of Sigmar

Deliver the God-King’s justice with the new Battletome: Cities of Sigmar, containing loads of background lore, artwork, miniatures galleries, and the warscrolls you need to play this faction of brave and faithful soldiers in Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

The battletome will also be available in a special gamer’s edition set, while stocks last. This version of the book is in a smaller format and includes 66 reference cards.

Cogfort

The Cogfort is designed for total battlefield domination. This kit builds either the Cannonade variant, armed with a godbreaker cannon, or a Conqueror, armed with a realmscorcher flame cannon.

The miniature has a raft of cosmetic options, and every Warhammer Age of Sigmar faction can take one as a Regiment of Renown.

Erasmus Zonn the Enlightened One

Erasmus Zonn is regarded as a brilliant arcanist. From atop his mount, Glyphwing, he channels devastating radiant magic with the powerful Lantern of All-Knowledge and unleashes it with the Rod of Radiance.

Mallus Forgepriest

Mallus Forgepriests form part of the clergy of the Brethren of the Forge, serving in Sigmar’s armies as blacksmiths, chaplains, and battlefield exorcists. This hero leads from the front, smashing foes with a two-handed meteoric warhammer.

Aqshian Pyrocaster

Aqshian Pyrocasters are fiery and aggressive, wielding the powers of flame and heat in service to the Cities of Sigmar. They channel the tremendous power of bright magic through their emberstone wands, annihilating foes in an explosion of flame.

Amethyst Knellmage

Amethyst Knellmages are unrivalled masters of the Shyishan arcana. These strange and unnerving wizards specialise in casting malignant spells to sap the strength of their foes before cutting them down with wide arcs of their amethyst scythes.

Freeguild Gallants

Freeguild Gallants are knightly champions who eschew the speed and security of a steed in favour of fighting on foot. Carrying one-handed weapons and broad shields, they intercept enemy charges with stoic resolve before driving them back with superior bladecraft. The kit is packed with cosmetic options, making them easy to customise.

Gate Gargants

The pair of massive brutes in this kit serve as a living gatehouse at the heart of a Castelite formation, each holding one half of a massive gate to protect the troops behind them as they advance. They rebuff enemy charges with bone-smashing sweeps of their warmauls, while their tower-mounted handlers open up with multi-barrelled cannons.

Dawner’s Triumph

A mobile monument serving as both a memorial and a dedication to those who have laid down their lives in pursuit of Sigmar’s glorious future, this faction terrain piece for the Cities of Sigmar radiates an aura of duty and glory that inspires nearby troops.

Jorvan Kreel, Heir of the Kraken

Jorvan Kreel is a fearless Ranger-Colonel who travels far in search of allies to help him reclaim his honour and his legacy. In battle, he carves a path through foes, wielding his mighty blade with breathtaking skill.

Freeguild Grenadiers

Experts in close-quarters combat, Freeguild Grenadiers are always the first into the breach. The 10 miniatures in this kit are outfitted with the finest blackpowder weapons, flame-hurlers, and polearms, relying on overwhelming force to reduce enemies to charred piles.

Spearhead: Zenestra’s Zealots

Pontifex Zenestra leads these fanatical soldiers alongside a Freeguild Marshal. They are accompanied by a Relic Envoy, a unit of six Freeguild Command Corps, and 10 Steelhelms – and together they comprise a complete Spearhead force.

Regiment of Renown: Ven Denst’s Hounds

The ven Densts are a witch-hunting father-and-daughter duo who travel far and wide in their pursuit of rogue manifestations. They are accompanied by 11 grizzled Wildercorps Hunters in a Regiment of Renown, which can be used in your Grand Alliance Order army.

Dice and Warscroll Cards

Bring down the blessings of the God-King with every roll of your Cities of Sigmar-themed dice. You can also keep track of your rules, stats, and abilities with the pack of warscroll cards.

The Regiment of Renown, dice, and warscroll cards are only available while stocks last.

Thyrielle's Zephyrites

Thyrielle's Zephyrites is a complete, Mastery-style warband of Lumineth Realm-lords for use in games of Warhammer Underworlds, which synergises well with existing Mastery decks. Once you understand how best to use Tzul, the vulpine spirit, you’ll claim glory in Embergard and beyond.

This week on Warhammer TV, some of the most potent commanders in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy test their mettle in a series of challenges on Arena of Death. Loremasters takes an in-depth look at the return of a certain Ghazghkull Thraka – specifically how and why he and his mighty Waaagh! have their sights on Armageddon.* Then, in Ultimate Paint-Off, the contestants face their toughest challenge yet – replicating the ’Eavy Metal painting style on a Cities of Sigmar Cavalier-Marshal before being scrutinised by a special guest judge.

Here at Warhammer Community, we’ll be looking at the rules for the Cities of Sigmar, and continuing our ongoing Warhammer 40,000 Faction Focus series with a look at the faithful Adepta Sororitas on Monday and the furious World Eaters on Tuesday.**

* Again!

** Which is fair – everyone knows Tuesday is the worst day of the week.
