Codex: Adeptus Custodes is just weeks away, and with the reveal of the new miniatures and rules, you may well be thinking of starting a golden host yourself. Or, maybe you already have a Custodes army and are wondering what the changes mean for your existing force. Here’s the lowdown.
With the arrival of a glorious wave of new plastic miniatures, this is the first Adeptus Custodes codex to combine the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: The Horus Heresy ranges together into a single book. Units like the Gyrfalcon Jetbikes and Pallas Grav-attack vehicles sit alongside Custodian Wardens and Allarus Custodians for an impressive 27 datasheets in total.

There are a few units that are moving to Warhammer Legends. The Land Raider gives its parking space in the Codex over to the firepower and transport function of the Caladius Grav-tank and Coronus Grav-carrier, while the Contemptor Dreadnought is replaced by the new Telemon, Galatus, and Achillus Dreadnoughts. Valerian and Aleya, first released as commemorative miniatures as part of the 2020 Black Library celebration, also move to Legends.

Quite a few of these continuing kits are showing as out of stock online right now, but that’s mostly because we’re in the process of re-boxing them. There may well still be some on shelves at your local Warhammer store or stockists – they are the same miniatures.
