Cakes, Competitions, and the Questoris Styrix: the latest Freeblade updates

Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade puts players in the Throne Mechanicus of an Imperial Knight, allowing them to battle through the 41st Millennium at the heart of one of the Imperium’s deadliest war machines. While this is pretty cool in its own right, developers Pixel Toys have been hard at work squeezing even more awesome into the game and beyond, even going as far as getting an Imperial Knight themed cake baked – read more in their roundup of what’s new in the game:

Apple TV and New Knight

Pixel Toys’ explosive shooter, Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, celebrates its second Birthday! (we even had a special Freeblade Knight cake made just for us!)

To mark this anniversary, Pixel Toys have been busy bringing the game to an entirely new platform: Apple TV!

This is the first time in which fans will be able to experience their Imperial Knight on the big screen, and we can’t wait to begin purging heretics with the intuitive Apple TV remotes.

This landmark update also introduces the Questoris Knight Styrix to Freeblade, allowing players to slaughter Orks and Chaos alike in a brand new livery.

30 Years of Warhammer 40,000 – AR Competition

We recently ran a competition to win an Imperial Knight painted by Games Workshop in a special 30 years of Warhammer 40,000 livery – check it out!

Well, now we have the entries in. With so many fantastic photo entries in Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade’s AR competition, we’ve had a hard time whittling it down to just three. So much so, that we had to include a 4th bonus prize! This is the first competition of it’s kind for Games Workshop, and it was great to see all of your Imperial Knights in real-world inventive situations. We were absolutely overwhelmed with the creativity and ingenuity of such an amazing community.

We hope you’ll agree that these are some very worthy winners.

3rd place Runner-Up Prize: For Taka483toshi’s photo, if this Imperial Knight made music, then we wouldn’t want to be the one to tell him he’s not plugged in…

2nd place Runner-Up Prize: Chris Hartford captioned his pic as “Being on a flight to Seattle. Coach, unfortunately”. We loved the humour, but have to wonder whether the plane would even take off with the weight!

First Place: Mark Harrison Ramsay managed to capture the impressive scale of the Freeblade superbly! He’s the lucky winner of the Games Workshop painted Freeblade Knight!

Bonus Prize: Thomas Cagle captures the never-before-seen moment in which a Freeblade acquires customisation supplies.

Thanks, guys! If you want to join in the fun, you can download Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade here.
