More Warhammer Events. More Often.

If you’ve tried to get a ticket for a UK tournament at Warhammer World, you’ve probably noticed just how fast they sell out. It’s a great gaming space, but for everyone who gets to play there, many more people can’t. The UK gaming community has simply outgrown the Warhammer World space.

So, we’re going to move our major tournaments and other organised play events out of Warhammer World and into larger venues where we can accommodate more gamers at every event, just as we do in the US and Europe.

Not only will this give more people more chances to play at any particular event, but we’ll be able to hold more events, more often. And we’ll be moving them around the UK as we try out different venues and event formats, so you should see events closer to you.

The First Events will be:

September:
Warhammer 40,000 singles + Age of Sigmar doubles Grand Tournaments
Epsom Downs Racecourse, Oaks Hall Ballroom, South London
5th & 6th September

October:
Warhammer 40,000 doubles + Age of Sigmar singles Grand Tournaments
Telford International Centre, near Birmingham
31st October - 1st November

November:
Warhammer 40,000 singles + Age of Sigmar doubles Grand Tournaments
Kempton Park Racecourse, Exhibition Hall, West London
14th & 15th November

Tickets are on sale now on CVENT:

More to Come!

We’ll be adding more dates, venues and event types in the coming months. Our goal is to bring more and bigger events to more people more easily, and we’ve got our eye on some incredible venues across the length and breadth of the UK.

Understanding Events

Globally our official events will fall under one of these types:

Warhammer Open

  • These are our flagship events. These multi-day events include a variety of Warhammer Tournaments & Grand Tournaments, narrative events, and hobby activities.

Warhammer Tournament

  • A single-day Warhammer tournament for a given game system. Tournament formats are typically Singles (the classic 1v1 tournament format - each player on a quest for victory), Doubles (join forces with a friend to play 2 vs 2 games of Warhammer) or Teams (gather some friends and play as a team – there are typically five players to a team, making for five 1v1 games with a team’s total score determining their standing).

Warhammer Grand Tournament

  • A Tournament but played across multiple days

Warhammer Grand Narrative

  • A multi-day Warhammer narrative event dedicated to an unfolding storyline.

The World Championship of Warhammer

  • Each year we crown the World Champions of Warhammer at this prestigious multi-day tournament. Qualifiers hail from over 50 nations. Players can qualify at over 600 major Warhammer events worldwide, including every official Games Workshop-run Grand Tournament.

What of Warhammer World?

Warhammer World remains the spiritual heart of the Warhammer hobby here in the UK, with a massive Warhammer store, incredible exhibition centre boasting hundreds of thousands of painted miniatures and displays – and of course, Bugman’s Bar.

Warhammer World’s gaming space is open for store events and casual gaming for all visitors from around the world.  It will continue to run one-day events for all our games, and although our official Tournaments for Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar will head out onto the road, Warhammer World will continue to run Tournaments for all our other games, like The Old World and the Middle-earth™ Strategy Battle Game.
