#New40k Kit Focus – Da Boyz of Armageddon

The Ork Boyz from the Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon box have quite a bit of customisation for a push-fit kit, and today we’re taking a closer look.

As part of the Ork contingent inside Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, you get a solid 20 Boyz to add to your green tide. You might be expecting a few duplicates like in previous push-fit launch boxes, but that’s not the case – despite being contained on two identical sprues of 10, you can actually build 20 unique miniatures thanks to a simple bit of cross-compatibility.

What we mean by that is, each set of arms that goes onto a leg-and-torso assembly can fit on at least two entirely different bodies. The nine regular Boyz heads also fit on any body* apart from that of the squad’s Nob, so there are loads of combinations you can make.**

Speaking of the Nob, they also have two loadout options available on the sprue, so if you run your Armageddon box Boyz as two units of 10, they’re not led by a pair of twins. Not that the Orks have anything against twins – that’s twice as many gits to krump.

A similar amount of customisation extends to the 10 Gretchin you get, who come on the same sprues as the Ork Boyz. While their heads and arms are contained on a single piece, you can also mix a number of them across different bodies, giving you some options to customise your horde.

It’s not long now until the Armageddon boxed set will be in your hands – make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter so you don’t miss the pre-order announcement. In the meantime, check out our recent Orks Faction Focus so you can see how you’ll Waaagh! in the new edition.

* Plus, you get to pretend that you’re a Painboy reattaching ’eads.

** We did the maffs on the number of combinations and our calculator sez ‘lotz’.
