Middle-earth™ Battlehosts rules available to download

Three new Battlehosts for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game will be available to pre-order this Saturday.

With new Quickstart rules available for each Battlehost, we sat down with the Middle-earth team to learn more.

Jon: The new Battlehost boxes are perfect for players looking to expand their army, to start a new one, or for those who’ve never played before. These Quickstart rules are designed for the latter – people taking the first first foray into Middle-earth.

There’s one Quickstart Guide for each of the Battlehosts. These provide starter profiles for the models in your Battlehost, allowing you to get them on the table to face an opponent with any of the other Battlehosts.

The Battlehost Quickstart Rules Guide includes the rules you need to play your first game. Through doing so, you’ll learn how a lot of the core mechanics work in the full Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, such as Moving, Shooting, and fighting a Combat.

The Road Goes Ever On

Once you’ve achieved noble victory or experienced hard-fought defeat,* your next step is to pick up the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game Rules Manual. This contains the full game rules, covering everything from magic and chariots to siege games. These rules introduce tactical depth to what you’ve already learned, allowing you to have even more exciting battles with your collection. For example, in the full rules, a mounted model can carry on fighting on foot even when their steed is slain.**

The Rules Manual is included in The War of the Rohirrim™ – Battle of Edoras boxed set, which is a great way to expand your collection with more heroes, warriors, and scenery.

In addition to the Rules Manual, you’ll also need one of the three supplements that provide the profiles and army lists for all of the armies fighting in Middle-earth. Armies of the Lord of the Rings covers all your favourite heroes and villains from The Lord of the Rings™: Motion Picture Trilogy and The War of the Rohirrim™, Armies of the Hobbit provides profiles for characters from The Hobbit™: Motion Picture Trilogy, and Armies of Middle-earth adds even more units from across Middle-earth.

Thanks, Jon! Download the Quickstart Rules Guide and Battlehost guides to get started now.

* We’ve all been there!
