If you’re anything like us, you’ve always got one eye open for the next army project, and with so many awesome factions to choose from it’s helpful to have a solid place to start. Combat Patrol is exactly that, giving you a great selection of starting units that can be played as-is in a fast, balanced small-scale game mode, or used as the foundation for a larger army.
With the tussle over the Maelstrom reaching fever pitch and the spectre of Huron Blackheart looming, four new Combat Patrol boxes have arrived to shore up the region’s forces. What’s more, all four of these Combat Patrols come with the miniatures you need to make a full kill team, so if you haven’t given that game a look yet, now's the time. You have been playing Kill Team, right?
Combat Patrol: Aeldari Corsairs

Aeldari Corsairs have been active around the galactic core since time immemorial, and with Prince Yriel striking out in force, their piratical ilk are emboldened like never before. This collection of agile plunderers maximises the speed of your nascent army, ferrying Kharseth the Void Dreamer and a squad of 10 Corsair Voidreavers into battle aboard a Wave Serpent while a band of five new Corsair Skyreavers cover them from above.
There are some great options in this box for modifying your force – the Voidreavers can be assembled as specialised Corsair Voidscarred and the Wave Serpent kit can instead build a heavily armed Falcon grav-tank.
Combat Patrol: Red Corsairs

While the Red Corsairs are known for the ranks of renegade Space Marines that make up their most vicious and effective shock troops, they’re pragmatic enough to make use of any forces that’ll march under their banner – including mutant beasts like Fellgors, who’ll serve anyone so long as they get to fight.
This direct and violent force is formed around an elite spearhead of Chaos Space Marines made up of a Reave-Captain and five Red Corsairs Raiders, while 10 Fellgor Ravagers provide effective close combat support that’ll soak up enemy fire just fine. You also get a Chaos Rhino with all the bells and whistles, in case your raiders need to zoom around the battlefield in relative safety.
Combat Patrol: Kroot

While often seen among cadres from the T’au Empire, the Kroot are a mercenary species who will quite happily ply the stars among their close-knit kinbands. Possessed of resourcefulness, savagery, and cunning in spades, they’re a terrifying prospect to face in the dark of a ship hold or on an open battlefield littered with salvage.
This Combat Patrol combines all of their greatest hits, with a Farstalker Kinband of 10 Kroot and two Kroot Hounds skirmishing alongside a Lone-spear while a mature Krootox Rider provides fire support for three Krootox Rampagers. They may consider armour a secondary concern, but they’re fast and hit like a truck – the true Kroot way.
Combat Patrol: Night Lords

Bringing up the rear is a party that you really don’t want stood behind you* – the barbarous Night Lords. As masters of close-range terror warfare, they’re perfectly suited to the smaller arena of Combat Patrol, and gleefully relish the chance to hack up anyone stuck in there with them.
A deadly Chaos Lord descends from the skies with a jump pack, supported by five Chosen, ten Legionaries, and a Chaos Rhino. The Legionaries in this Combat Patrol have swapped their usual upgrade sprue for the Night Lords-themed one from the Nemesis Claw kill team, so you can outfit both them and their Chosen betters with tons of Nostraman details – especially the winged helmets, which are probably the most ‘Night Lords’ thing in the box.**
All four of these Combat Patrols will be coming to a Warhammer store near you – especially since you’re only a few taps away from the webstore – very soon, so keep your eye out for more information here at Warhammer Community.
* Or anywhere near you, frankly.
** The Lord swooping in with claws bared is pretty Night Lords-appropriate too.
