The Big Summer Preview – New Starter Sets and ready painted terrain

Got a friend interested in Warhammer 40,000? Our new Starter Sets are ideal for taking the plunge into the grim darkness of the far future.

Warhammer 40,000: Starter Set

Jump right into the new edition with the new Starter Set, designed especially for newcomers to the worlds of Warhammer. This fantastic value box includes two complete Combat Patrol armies – Space Marines and Orks – along with a Core Rules book, 15 pieces of unpainted terrain, a double-sided game board, range rulers, dice, and a special Starter Guide book to ease you into the game.

The new Starter Set will ease you from your very first steps up until you’re playing full Combat Patrol games of Warhammer 40,000, and even if you’re already a veteran of the 41st Millennium, it’s a great way to get a fantastic collection of new miniatures.

Warhammer 40,000: Getting Started with…

Already know which side you’re pledging allegiance to in the wars on Armageddon? The Getting Started with Space Marines and Getting Started with Orks boxes have you covered, with a full Combat Patrol of miniatures, along with an introductory guide, starter paintbrush, and 11 paints, which have been specially selected for that particular faction.

The introductory guide has everything a new player needs – step-by-step tutorials for your first games, building and painting guides, and plenty of lore about the faction and their place in the grim, dark 41st Millennium.

Warhammer 40,000: Introductory Set

What if you’re looking for a quick taste of the 41st Millennium all wrapped up in a single box, with miniatures and paints enough for two friends just getting started with their hobby? The Introductory Set is designed for the very new and eminently curious, coming with 12 miniatures, six paints, an introductory book, a set of folding card terrain, a game mat, and all sorts of information to get started.

Since it’s not a new edition of Warhammer 40,000 without a new Space Marines Lieutenant, the Introductory Set includes one! In fact, all 12 of the miniatures – Space Marines Lieutenant, 5 Intercessors, Ork Nob, and 5 Boyz – are brand new and are available first in this Introductory Set.

Ork players take note – this is also an easy way to add a rocket launcha and a big shoota into the Boyz squad from the Armageddon launch box.

Paint Sets

Lastly, it couldn’t be a new edition launch without a series of new paint sets. This time, you get to pick between Space Marine intercessors or Ork Boyz (and a Grot), each of which comes with a selection of 6 paints curated for the faction and some characterful miniatures. If you’re just starting with building and painting, the new Paints + Tools Set includes 13 Warhammer Colour paints, a starter brush, starter clippers, and a starter mould line scraper.

There are also some terrain kits on the way to make your tabletop even more immersive when you play.

Combat Patrol: Battlezone

Easily create a Combat Patrol-sized battlefield with this new terrain set. It features unpainted push-fit scenery, fold-out game boards, and terrain footprints, making setup a doddle for your games of Warhammer 40,000. This terrain setup is perfect for those just getting into Warhammer, and fans of smaller, quick-fire games. Plus, you can combine it with the terrain from the Starter Set for a full Strike Force-sized battlefield.

How about if you just want to add some power lines, ruins, or capacitors to your board? Each part of the main set will also be available separately, so you can pick and choose which bits work best for your table.

Warhammer 40,000 Battlefields: Armageddon

Create a full Armageddon-themed battlefield in minutes with a ready painted terrain set. Each box contains 28 pieces of terrain split between ruins, galvanic relays, capacitors, and other thematic elements, as well as a set of terrain area footprints and folding, double-sided game boards.

It’s as easy as clipping them off the sprue, putting them together, then playing on a fully coloured, immersive battlefield. You’ll have a full board ready for strike force-sized games that looks incredible and makes it simple to play peak Warhammer on your kitchen (or any other) table.

Battle Mat: Armageddon

If you fancy upgrading your board with an even better surface to play on, we’ve got that sorted too – with a matching fabric Battle Mat for your Strike Force-sized games.

This soft mat is the perfect size for a Strike Force-sized throw-down and rolls up for easy storage. It has a nice soft-touch finish, a smooth surface, and features a beautiful high-res image.

All of these terrain and starter sets will be available soon, so keep your eyes trained on Warhammer Community to learn more. In the meantime, head back to the Preview hub and see what else we’ve shown off today.
