The recent Journal Tactica set on Tallarn has us all geared up for a monumental tank battle, so the Warhammer Studio have been painting some super-heavies.
The Journal includes rules for massive Armoured Spearhead missions that put tanks and other vehicles at the forefront. So, with the Fellblade, Glaive, and Falchion all having rolled out over the last year, it was the right time to celebrate the Legiones Astartes’ super-heavy motor pool.
Adam

Pattern: Falchion
Legion: Salamanders
Adam opted for a paler green than most Salamanders colour schemes, fading to a deeper green as it goes down. The crackled lava effect on the mantlet is a good indicator of the immense power behind it.
Mark

Pattern: Falchion
Legion: Iron Warriors
Mark’s Iron Warriors Falchion sports an impressively unsubtle set of stripes. Given the enemy could see it from a mile away, we imagine his crew are especially unbothered by their chances of survival, even for members of the IV Legion.
Chris

Pattern: Fellblade
Legion: Ultramarines
This tank has seen its fair share of action, with red dirt and dust caked in its tracks and running gear. Knowing the Ultramarines,* this won’t affect its performance one bit, and it’ll be spick and span before the next deployment.
James

Pattern: Glaive
Legion: Space Wolves
Space Wolves are known for their love of melee combat, but they are just as happy slaying the enemies of the Emperor from within their fighting vehicles. Many tanks throughout their history have great sagas of their own, and continue to reap a vicious tally with guns and tracks both.
Luke

Pattern: Glaive
Legion: World Eaters
With the Butcher’s Nails singing, the World Eaters are only too happy to use the devastating power of the Falchion’s weapons to spill the blood of their enemy – or to completely eradicate them from existence. Plus, tank tracks are incredibly useful for crushing bones.
You can get all three tanks right now on the Warhammer webstore, alongside Journal Tactica: The Battle of Tallarn – Part One, for that sweet armoured combat goodness.
* Fans of the XIII Legion will want to make sure they check back in on Thursday, when we’ll be sharing some of their Black Books lore.
