Painters from across the Warhammer community have taken on Skaven and Cities of Sigmar miniatures from the Spearhead: City of Ash boxed set. Take a look at their impressive offerings.
Adrian Phillips:

Adrian from Tabletop Titans already gave us some top tactical tips for the miniatures in the boxed set. He’s also painted Deathmaster Crixxit and a Gutter Runner, achieving some nice warpstone glow effects, and cloaks that wouldn’t look out of place in Clans Pestilens.
Nyara:

Nyara has painted Deathmaster Crixxit in almost regal dark blues and purples with brighter lightning flashes. We can think of another Warhammer character fond of keeping to the shadows who would especially take to this example.
Joshua Hill:

Josh has painted up a horde of Skaven alongside the characterful Jorvan Kreel and a Mallus Forgepriest. We’re especially drawn to the effects on the weapons of the Skaven, and the almost bio-luminescent look of Kreel’s kraken crest.
Vincent Venturella:

Vincent V shows that the agents of Clans Eshin sometimes disguise themselves as Clans Verminus. The rich red of the cloaks is reflected in whatever is dripping from the blade of the lead Gutter Runner – blood? Toxin? We didn’t like to ask.
Vincent Knotley:

Vincent K continues his multi-coloured expedition through the worlds of Warhammer with this rainbow of rats. The muted hues look great, and we’re especially impressed by the miniature with a teal cloak – a colour we’d never really associated with the Skaven before.
Will Salmon:

Will has painted up a duo of Freeguild Grenadiers. They look majestic in a yellow and purple colour scheme that helps the chainmail to really stand out. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a pair like this rock up with the ven Densts during one of their witch-hunting expeditions.
Fra:
Fra has used a really nice object-source lighting effect on the warpstone for these Skaven’s bases, giving the miniatures a really eerie look. We wouldn’t want to meet them in the alleyways of Embergard!
Matt Crowther:
Finally, Matt has painted a good chunk of the box, including some Freeguild Gallants and the terrain features. Our eyes were drawn to the way that blue is used as a spot colour on Kreel’s ash panther, which matches the colour of his cloak.*
We’re sure you’ll agree that those are some inspirational paint jobs. The Spearhead: City of Ash boxed set will be available in your local Warhammer store from 2 May 2026, and you’ll be able to get the individual miniatures in the future.
* No ash panthers were harmed in the creation of this item of clothing, probably.
