Today we’re launching a new section of Warhammer Community dedicated to Warhammer Events and how to get involved. If you want to find out how to get to the World Championships, or how to get help running your own event, this is the place.
You’ll also find information on Featured Events all around the world – from official Warhammer Opens and the Warhammer National Tournament Series, to independent majors and conventions that our team will be attending.
We’ll be adding to this new section regularly, with information on new events, additional resources, and guides for Tournament and Event Organisers, along with news from the tournament scene. Stay tuned and keep checking back to warhammer-community.com/events.
Upcoming events
We couldn’t launch an Events section of the site without drawing attention to some of the awesome Warhammer Events that are coming up in the next few months.
For those in the UK, the headline events coming soon are the first three stops in the Warhammer National Tournament Series. Join us next month in Epsom Downs for Warhammer 40,000 Singles and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Doubles. It’s an awesome venue, with new custom waist-high tables (your back will thank us later) and lunch included on both days – all an hour’s travel from London Victoria.
And for those further afield, there are Warhammer Opens in Krakow, Poland, and Atlanta and Palm Springs in the USA on the horizon, as well as the next stop in the Japanese Warhammer National Tournament Series in Tokyo.
Warhammer Global Rankings
As you go through the Events section of the site, you’ll also notice something new – the Warhammer Global Rankings, which is the new name for the International Tournament Circuit (ITC) rankings.
We’ve taken this opportunity to update the name and logo, so it better reflects what the Warhammer Global Rankings do – they are a global ranking of Warhammer!
From four-person narrative campaigns or weekly club nights organised in the most remote basement, to the World Championships, a Warhammer Event is where people gather to engage in Warhammer together.
The Warhammer Global Rankings are a way of bringing those communities together in one place, rewarding everything from painting skill to generalship, from faction specialisation to regional dominance. Whether you want to see where you stand on the global stage or how you stack up against your local buddies, it’s a fun and free way to be more deeply connected to the global Warhammer community.
At the halfway point of every season, the top ranked players in many countries who haven't yet won a golden ticket to the World Championships of Warhammer will receive one. And there are awards at the end of the season for those topping the rankings overall, for hobby, and for each faction by game system.
This year, for the first time, the pools at the World Championships of Warhammer will also be formed and seeded based on where players rank on the Global Rankings charts within their countries and the world.
