Global debut of Codex: Space Marines on Warhammer TV

This week on Warhammer TV you can see the new Codex: Space Marines being used on the tabletop for the first time! Can the Angels of Death defeat a horde of ravening Tyranids?

Live today: Battle Report – Space Marines vs Tyranids

Earlier this week we showed off some of the new Space Marines datasheets, and now it’s time to see them in action! Jack, from the Warhammer Studio, helped write the new rules, so he commands the Imperium’s finest, while Battle Report presenter Josh is determined to spoil the party with a force of Tyranids.

Leading the Space Marines is a man who knows a fair bit about Codexes – Roboute Guilliman. He’s ably supported by a Captain and their Victrix Honour Guard, and an infantry-heavy list comprising Intercessors, Infiltrators, Desolation, and Infernus Marines. The Tacticus-armoured warriors will be seeking to take advantage of the Tacticus Attack Force detachment, which allows units with the TACTICUS keyword to re-roll advance rolls.

Providing heavier support are four Dreadnoughts – a Redemptor, a Brutalis, and a pair of Ballistus-pattern walkers. The Ironclad Champions detachment means they can ALL re-roll hit rolls of 1, making the interred champions even more accurate.

Here’s the full Strike Force-sized army list to give you an idea of what a force will look like with the new Codex.

Opposing the Adeptus Astartes is a Tyranids swarm led by a mighty Neurotyrant, channelling the will of the Hive Mind. Meanwhile, a Broodlord, Hormagaunts, Termagants, Genestealers, and an unholy collection of predators including a Norn Emissary, Biovore and Neurolictor create even more challenges for the Space Marines.

We’re only a couple of days away from Codex: Space Marines going on pre-order, so not only is this the first time you’ll see it on Battle Report, it’s the first time you’ll see it in action anywhere!

Live tomorrow: Painting Desk – Angels of Death

If watching the Space Marines in action has whetted your appetite for your own army of ceramite-clad warriors, Painting Desk is back with some top tips from a painting pro.

Miniatures designer and former ‘Eavy Metal team member Daz joins Ed to discuss his love of painting and the skills deployed on some of his most memorable pieces – including a Blood Angels Captain, an epic-scale Legion of the Damned Assault Marine, and an incredible reimagining of Space Wolves Wolf Lord, Krom Dragongaze.

This week’s episodes join an immense back catalogue of over 700 episodes of gaming shows, hobby guides, animations, and more. Your subscription also unlocks expanded features in the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar apps, access to years of lore books and magazines in the Warhammer Vault, automatic entry into regular competitions, and even a pair of special subscriber-only miniatures and the Warhammer Yearbook when you sign up for a whole year.
