Last week, we learned about the background of the Ultramarines. Now, our continuing series sharing classic lore from Warhammer: The Horus Heresy reaches one of the most devastating battles of the civil war – Calth.
This week’s download takes us through the underhand beginnings of the Shadow War, to the Betrayal at Calth, and onto the Ultramarines’ fightback. This includes some of the bitterest fighting of the entire Horus Heresy and also featured cohorts of Solar Auxilia, forces of the Mechanicum, Legio Titanicus god-engines, and even an entire Knight Household. This lore is originally from The Horus Heresy: Book 5: Tempest, first published in 2015.
