The Traitors began by unleashing their fury upon the Cyclops Cluster, quickly cutting off entire systems. The Warmaster then prepared the next part of his plan – letting loose Mortarion and his Death Guard. This lore and background was originally from The Horus Heresy Book Four: Conquest, first published in 2014. It follows the campaign from the Cyclops Cluster to the Manachean Commonwealth and features a host of information about some of the key planets.
