Build endlessly versatile Necromunda terrain with pipes

The hugely versatile Zone Mortalis Factoria Pipes came out recently, and we’re here to share some secrets about how to get the most out of the kit.

The Factoria Pipes are made up of Pipe Sections, Connectors, and End Sections, and with a shared fitting between these parts you are able to construct the kit in dozens of different ways. That could be long sections of pipes which cut through your corridors of the underhive, or smaller sections of feature pieces.  With so many valves, generators, cranks and regulators through the kit, the possibilities are almost endless.

Here are just two examples of what can be achieved by mixing up the sections and glueing them in different combinations.

Crucially, the kit comes with two extra attachment plates sized to join your pipe network to Zone Mortalis columns, connecting the Factoria Pipes to your existing Zone Mortalis sectors. This would be moderately useful on its own, but the regular spacing used by Zone Mortalis floor tiles and wall segments turns it into a geometric wonderland where everything fits together nicely.

The standard distance between two Zone Mortalis columns on the tiles is exactly the same as two sections of Factoria Pipes with a two-way connector joining them. Therefore, you can have a section of pipe run between and two columns or walls easily, or even the stepped walkway that occupies the same amount of space.

You don’t need to stay horizontal either. By using the attachment plates and small pipe extender, you can also run pipes up two columns for some vertical height within your boards.

The Silo included with the Factoria Pipes is also compatible with the Gunk Tank from the Necromunda Gang Stronghold, allowing you to mix the lids, giving you even more variety when creating an industrial sector of the underhive.

These are only a few of the things that you’re meant to do with the Factoria Pipes, but we know Necromunda fans have a habit of crafting incredible works of art with otherwise normal terrain kits. Pick a few up for yourself, and make sure you show us the elaborate networks and pumping stations you create!
