Join us for a first look at the new rules for Kravek Morne, Mutilators, and Defilers, so you can start planning your campaign across the Cadian Gate. It’s time to defile the galaxy.

Kravek Morne
As the big man leading the whole operation, Kravek Morne has a lot to prove, and true to his nature, he’s an absolute battering ram. Armed with a monstrous thunder hammer called Last Argument AND a power fist, he tears through pretty much everything smaller than a tank – which his handy servo-harness is only too happy to cut up.

He can also single out an enemy unit as the subject of his ire, in an act of petty hatred that must really resonate with his Primarch, Perturabo. Whatever the reason for this impromptu grudge, it all but ensures the target will be flattened, and in classic Iron Warriors fashion, he can then find someone else to be mad at without skipping a beat.
Mutilators

It should come as no surprise that the miniatures that look like big, brutal close combat monsters are, in fact, big, brutal close combat monsters. Mutilators can morph their arms into a variety of hideously effective melee weapons, letting them shred whole squads of chaff troopers, butcher elite warriors, or smash battle tanks as they please.

They can also Deep Strike into enemy lines to get close quickly, and the Crushing Charge ability helps them make that all-important 9” charge with a handy re-roll. Durable, deadly, and great for keeping your opponent’s attention away from your more nefarious plans, they work great as a bodyguard for Kravek Morne and a persistent threat that can brawl over objectives with the best of them.
Defiler
The iconic Defiler has been given the glow-up of a lifetime to match its new model’s size and presence, with improved Movement, Toughness, and Wounds. It has also been raiding the Soul Forge armouries, and now has enough ranged weapon options to take out any enemy target.

Doesn’t that look great? But think about it – is a Defiler in thrall to the World Eaters going to go about its business exactly the same as one pledged to the Death Guard? Absolutely not. That’s why each of the four Chaos legions that have their own Codexes get their own special Defiler that replaces the Daemonforge ability with something special.
Take the Thousand Sons Defiler, for example: the prescient powers of Tzeentch’s daemons let it predict where enemies will be and shoot at them more effectively with the Fire Overwatch stratagem.
Whichever army you include it in, the Defiler is a complete package. Great ranged weapons, excellent melee damage, and a rock-solid chassis to absorb return firepower. One or two give your list a strong and versatile core that you can expand with almost anything, whether you want to stay balanced or lean towards ranged or close combat.
All three of these new units go up for pre-order soon, along with the awesome Eye of Terror: Reign of Iron expansion, and some Imperial reinforcements desperately hoping to hold back the Iron Warriors.* If you want to find out what they’ll be packing, come back tomorrow.
* You know, the guys who’ve been training their siegecraft for ten thousand years. No big deal.
