Embarking on your journey through the worlds of Warhammer is about to be easier than ever with the launch of Warhammer Academy. We know it’s free, but how does it work?
Warhammer Academy is an essential online resource for anyone who wants to build confidence in their Warhammer skills, launching with over 150 instructive videos on Warhammer 40,000 and expanding into more games and settings as time goes by.
It’s a perfect jumping-on point for newcomers to the Warhammer hobby, as well as anyone coming back after a short spell away. You’ll learn everything from the ground up, from background lore to painting tips, designed expressly with new hobbyists in mind.
You can start by picking one of three routes - lore and collecting, building and painting, or gaming. Whichever path you choose, you’ll be developing your skills and experience in that particular area as you go.
Alternatively, you might pick a faction, and focus on learning everything there is to know about them. Once an army has caught your eye, you can work your way through a series of Lessons dedicated to your chosen army, learning all about them and their place in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium, and following detailed guides for painting every unit from their Combat Patrol.
You’ll even earn achievement badges for completing whole topics and mastering your faction, so you can keep track of your progress as you build confidence in your Warhammer knowledge.
By starting at your first Lesson and working your way through, you’ll steadily learn how to paint and play without skipping a beat – guided by expert presenters in clear and concise videos.
You’ll be able to dip in and out of different areas of the Academy as inspiration strikes you. If you’re learning the lore of the Blood Angels, and get inspired to start painting straight away, you can jump straight over to the relevant bit of the course. Watch as much as you want, at your own pace, and you’ll know the difference between the Black Rage and the Red Thirst in no time at all.
