Things are heating up in the already high temperature conflict of the Horus Heresy, as Fellblades roll out and MkII Assault Marines soar in. In Middle-earth™, the supplement The War of the Rohirrim™ is arriving alongside a complement of new plastic miniatures. Finally, Black Library delivers four Warhammer 40,000 novels. Read on for all the details of this week’s pre-orders.

Though its origins are in the Baneblade chassis used by the Imperial Crusade Army, the Fellblade Super-heavy Battle Tank is more advanced in every aspect, as befits an armoured vehicle deployed by the Legiones Astartes. Upgraded with metaplas alloy, atomantic arc-reactor, and its signature advanced accelerator cannon, the Fellblade is a terror on the battlefield, its array of weapons providing answers to any challenge.
Previously available in Forge World resin, this new plastic kit builds a Fellblade with a choice of paired laser destroyers, Gravis heavy bolters, or lascannon arrays on Sponsons, while the hull-mounted twin heavy bolters can be swapped for a twin heavy flamer and there’s a choice of Pintle-mounted havoc launcher, heavy flamer, heavy bolter, or multi-melta. Each kit also comes with a Legiones Astartes Super-heavy Vehicle transfer sheet comprising 718 decals.*
MkII Assault Squad
Space Marines are as adept in close-quarters fighting as they are at ranged combat, and the jump packs worn by the MkII Assault Squad ensure that they get into the thick of the melee. This kit contains 10 multi-part plastic Assault Marines who can wield bolt pistols or combat shields in their left hands, with wargear options including two power mauls, two heavy chainaxes, two sets of melta bombs, two disintegrator pistols, and an assortment of grenades, pouches, and other parts for customisation. Each kit also comes with a Legiones Astartes transfer sheet comprising 618 decals.*
Journal Tactica: The Forges of Saturn
Learn about how the Primarch Vulkan reintroduced Saturnine Terminator and Dreadnought armour, which had only seen a handful of deployments during the early days of the Great Crusade, in Journal Tactica: The Forges of Saturn. This 48-page softback book features expanded lore, including how the Legions reacted to the introduction of Saturnine armour, plus rules for three new units – Centurions and Command Squads in Saturnine armour, a unique daemon-infused unit for the Word Bearers, and the new Prosperine Arcana for the Thousand Sons.
A Legendary Mission depicting the Salamanders’ assault on the Death Guard’s fortified positions during the Dropsite Massacre is also included, alongside three new asymmetric Onslaught Missions that task players with attacking their opponent’s defensive lines.*
Legiones Astartes Combat Force
Kickstart an army or expand an existing collection with the Legiones Astartes Combat Force. This packed set features a core of 20 Space Marines in MkVI power armour, with a heavy weapons upgrade set comprising 10 missile launchers and 10 heavy bolters. The Rhino transport conveys a squad around the battlefield, while a Leviathan Dreadnought provides powerful range support with a choice of weapons – a cyclonic melta lance, a grav-flux bombard, and a storm cannon. The box also contains a Legiones Astartes decal sheet composed of 293 individual transfers and two Legiones Astartes Vehicle decal sheets with 44 transfers each.
Mechanicum Combat Force
The armies of Mars make great use of cybernetic troops to dominate their foes in battle, and the Mechanicum Combat Force lets you roll out a freshly crafted force or bolster an existing army. Six Thallax Cohort bound into combat equipped with lightning guns, while two of their number can wield phased plasma fusils, photon thrusters, or multi-meltas. A pair of larger Castellax Battle-automata support them, equipped with shock chargers or power blades and a choice of shoulder-mounted weapons: the box contains two mauler bolt cannons, one darkfire cannon, and one multi-melta. A Thanatar Cavas Siege-automata completes the set, obliterating enemies with its Hellex-pattern plasma mortar. Also included are two Mechanicum Macro-constructs transfer sheets, each comprising 394 transfers and two Mechanicum Constructs transfer sheets, with 558 transfers each.
Solar Auxilia Combat Force
The Solar Auxilia Combat Force brings good, old-fashioned human elbow grease to the Horus Heresy, whether you’re starting a new army or expanding one. A full 20-man Lasrifle Section joins a Tactical Command Section that can be assembled as a Line Command Section or a Legate Marshal and their bodyguard of four Lifewards. Two Hermes Sentinels provide swift, flanking firepower, and can be built as the Light or Veletaris variants, while a Solar Auxilia Leman Russ rolls in for armoured support, bringing with it a choice of battlecannon, twinned heavy lascannons or autocannons, or a long-barrelled Vanquisher battlecannon with a co-axial autocannon in the turret and one of five different hull weapons. The box includes two Solar Auxilia Infantry transfer sheets, each comprising 152 transfers, and two Solar Auxilia Vehicle transfer sheets with 180 transfers each.
