The longest game of hide-and-seek in history has just finished, as the Sorcerers of the Thousand Sons utter their secret phrases and awaken Sekhetar Robots across the galaxy to do their bidding. They had been hiding in plain sight, pretending to be part of the scenery, and it is with those legendary camouflage skills in mind that we asked our contributors to build a diorama for this article. Thanks to everyone that took part.

Brennan Baker has depicted two Hearthkyn Salvagers from the Trans-Hyperian Alliance investigating some decrepit, sand-filled ruin. Pay no heed to that weird statue behind them, nor the ominous glow emanating from the gun barrel – it’s just there to add to the ambience.

Chris Frosin’s little vignette includes Sekhetar Robots standing sentinel over some vaguely Prosperan ruins as an Imperial Agent walks past.

Tiffany Cosset has created a rematch 10,000 years in the making with a scene that shows a Sekhetar Robot decloaking in extreme proximity to a Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought, aiming its weapon point-blank at its oldest foe.

Sekhetar Robots are useful sentries, including for this portal that allows the long-distance transportation of Rubric Marines, as produced by CerxiS.

Alison Kersley followed a similar tack, featuring four implacable automatons guarding a vine-wreathed ziggurat topped by a Tzaangor Shaman – who knows what nefarious rituals he is practicing up there. Perhaps he’s just refuelling his flying disc?

It can’t really be a diorama roundup without someone paying homage to those classic 2nd edition alien cactuses, and Paulie Wallis fits one into a clash between the Thousand Sons and a Harlequin Troupe – presumably defending a culturally significant site from those stomping robot feet (and heavy warpflamers).

Finally, Garfy has pulled out all the stops – as usual – to create… actual magic with his display, which portrays a battle between unfeeling automatons as a conflagration of daemons emerges from the skies. How are they up there? Tell us the words of power you used to create this beautiful photographic display so we may study them more carefully!
Thanks again to everyone who took part, and to those who we couldn’t feature. The Warpflame Thrallband battleforce will be available to pre-order tomorrow, including four Sekhetar Robots of your very own.
