During Warhammer Relics we previewed all sorts of great new Warhammer merchandise, including two new books from our licensed partners at DK to complement the fantastic Warhammer 40,000: The Ultimate Guide. We’ve got some more details from both books today, as well as the announcement of another treat.
Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia

The vast roster of characters who populate the grim, darkness of the far future is one of the defining features of Warhammer 40,000. From fallen Primarchs and vile tyrants, to grizzled commanders, demigods and and other yet more enigmatic entities, there’s an exhaustive rogues’ gallery – and the forthcoming Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia covers over 120 of them in glorious detail.
“Writing the Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia was a great opportunity to revisit some of the greatest heroes and villains of the 41st Millennium, drawing on more than 30 years of stories in books, animations and other media to comprehensively document scores of iconic warriors,” explains chief loremaster Wade, who helped write the book. “Whether you’re a new recruit to the galaxy of war or a seasoned veteran, I hope you’ll find something to inform and inspire you!”
Copies will also come with a free miniature of one of the characters covered in it, but you’ll have to wait and see exactly who. It is available for pre-order right now.
The Art of Warhammer Video Games

Fans of Warhammer have been enjoying video games for over three decades, and this book is dedicated to the art of these many titles, covering games from times gone by and the present day. To give you a glimpse at what you can expect, here’s some spreads from the original and iconic Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.
“Authoring a book about video games while working on a video game has meant my life has been pretty busy as of late,” explains Andy Hall, who’s worked on many of these titles. “However, it's been surprisingly easy writing well over 20,000 words covering decades of Warhammer games, as I've played most of them – from the very first Space Hulk game on the Commodore Amiga all the way up to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. I can't wait for readers to join me on this epic journey.”
Each copy of the book will come with codes that can be redeemed for free copies of Warhammer: Vermintide, Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector and Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin which can be validated through Steam and Greenman Gaming, plus an unlock code for Lieutenant Titus in mobile game Warhammer 40,000 Tacticus. You can pre-order it today.
There’s one more book to announce – a must have for all fans of Space Marines.
