Though best known for their physical strength, Orks can also harness psychic power – and when they do, the results are spectacular. Enter: the new Weirdboy miniature.
Orks approach matters of the Warp with the same reckless enthusiasm as every part of their lives, channelling what they see as the raw energy of Gork and Mork into crackling bolts of green lightning, waves of glowing vomit,* and all manner of other horrific phenomena.
So great is the power surging from their minds that Weirdboyz are as much a hazard to themselves and those around them as they are to the enemy. Some are fitted with crude devices and given special staves that – allegedly – help control their abilities, though whether they function as intended is secondary to how flashy they look.

When the raw power of the Waaagh! boils over, and a Weirdboy can’t hold in its roiling tempest, their head has a habit of exploding, along with those of anyone nearby. Far from fearing these outbursts, other Orks find them immensely entertaining, and follow their psychic brethren into battle assured that – one way or another – they’ll get a great show.**
Yet for all their unpredictability, Weirdboyz are still phenomenally powerful, and rightly feared by Imperial forces for the destruction they wreak. This new miniature is pictured right before unleashing a psychic blast, eyes bulging as lightning crackles from its brain to the skull-topped staff in their hands.***

* You may remember this exact attack melting an unlucky Space Marine in the cinematic trailer.
** Orks love a good explosion of bone and gore – doesn’t even matter whose bone and gore it is.
*** Which is a twisted, Orkified echo of the force staff often carried by Space Marine Librarians.
