Inside White Dwarf 528: Ogors make a meal of the Mortal Realms

The Ogor Mawtribes are on the warpath, and we’ve given them a White Dwarf front page as tribute so they don’t eat us. Check out what’s inside Issue 528 of the official Warhammer magazine.

The issue’s main course is appropriately filled with Ogor Mawtribes features, seasoned with hobby guides and expert tips to get your horde ready for the tabletop.

The release of Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes came with a sizeable refresh of their miniatures range – with new heroes, mercenaries, and line infantry giving the faction its first major facelift in years. A ton of work went into updating the ogors while keeping their traditional style intact, and the miniature designers are only too happy to talk about the process.

With all this hubbub, we’ve got to see them in action too. The Ossiarch Bonereapers are in the unlucky position of being the ogors’ adversaries, and the fact that there’s practically no meat on their bones will only make the Mawtribes angrier. Woe betide Katakros – all the discipline and strategy in the world won’t help him resist a blubbery avalanche.

Still in the realm of ‘big new things smashing their way across the Mortal Realms’, Cogforts get a bounty of new rules that let you customise your giant walking fortress. Learn all about the construction of these mechanical marvels, then outfit yours into the perfect lynchpin behemoth for your battle plans. There’s also a warpstone-infused Skaven Cogfort conversion, yes-yes!*

Meanwhile, in the 41st Millennium, titanic Ork walkers get in on the spate of Knight-on-Knight duels that White Dwarf has been running over the last few months. Rules for Gorkanauts and Morkanauts give you all new options in the fantastically fun Titanic Duel minigame,** with predictably anarchic results when they come into contact with the serious and regimented Imperial Knights.

There’s also all of the usual good stuff, including army showcases, the latest from the White Dwarf Bunker, tear-out-and-keep Warhammer 40,000 core stratagems, and a guide to the lore of the Red Skull Kommandos.***

White Dwarf 528 is available to pre-order from Saturday. Never miss an issue – and get them delivered directly to your door with fancy full-art covers – by signing up for a 12-month subscription.

* Not sure where White Dwarf got the idea for Cogfort conversions from.
** The rules for which were originally in White Dwarf 523.
*** And their leader, Boss Snikrot.
