This year’s Golden Demon circuit has come to a close with a stunning display of artistry at SPIEL Essen, showcasing hundreds of incredible pieces submitted by Warhammer hobbyists from all over the world. Those that took their place on the podium are stunning in every sense of the word, but as with every competition, one reigned supreme above all and took home the coveted Slayer Sword.
That award went to Albert Moreto Font for his mind-blowing Battle Wizard from the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Single Miniature category.

In his words, the miniature was converted from at least 17 different Warhammer kits, stretching across Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer: The Old World, and even a little Warhammer 40,000 as a treat – along with some custom parts he hand-sculpted himself. Can you spot any pieces from the following kits?

This win marks Albert’s third Slayer Sword, only two years after he claimed the ultimate prize for his beautiful King of the Lumineth that won in 2023. Prior to that, he claimed his first Slayer Sword all the way back at Games Day 2006 with a Black Orc Warboss, and has frequently earned himself Gold and Silver medals ever since.

He is the second Slayer Sword winner of 2025, making it a clean sweep for Spain after his fellow countryman Borja Calvo Bertrán De Lis rose to the top during the first Golden Demon leg at AdeptiCon – only 16 short years after picking up a Youngbloods category win at Games Day Madrid in 2009!

We can also now announce that Golden Demon will return in 2026, kicking off with the US leg at AdeptiCon at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, WI, from March 25th to 29th. We’ll be releasing the full event pack with all the details in a few weeks.
