Warhammer at Gen Con, the NOVA Open in August, and Warhammer World in November

Warhammer is coming to Gen Con between 31st July and 3rd August in a massive way, and you're invited to dive headfirst into the grimdark battles, hobby heroics, and unforgettable experiences we have planned – such as Kill Team Live! Lasertag, our pulse-pounding fusion of laser tag and tactical skirmish gaming.

Want to get stuck into some more tabletop action? There are Sealed Team events for Blood Bowl and Kill Team, where each player receives a randomly selected, pre-assembled team to use during the event and then take home.

There are three unique participation games running. Face the Skaventide introduces you to the Mortal Realms as you command a Stormcast Eternal in a 30-minute battle against waves of Skaven. Horus Heresy: Dropsite Massacre throws you into the iconic conflict at Isstvan V, a perfect gateway into the brutal warfare of the Age of Darkness. Kill Team: Dungeon Crawl rounds out the trio with its deadly, prize-filled roguelike exploration mission.

On top of that we’ve got Paint & Take stations, expert painters offering painting tutorials, numerous intro games, and an official Warhammer store with all the usual event-exclusive goodies.

The NOVA Open is an independent show that we have been proudly attending for many years. It’s on between 27th and 31st August, with top-tier tournament play for Warhammer games including Warhammer 40,000, Kill Team, Age of Sigmar, and the Horus Heresy. We’ll be running loads of additional events besides, including plenty of narrative play, while there’ll be a massive store on site – and we’ll also be livestreaming the Warhammer 40,000 singles event throughout over on the Warhammer Twitch Channel.

Warhammer will be hosting a Wednesday night event including a team tournament for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, a giant Space Hulk game, and a painting station where artists will paint pre-release miniatures live – alongside much more besides. Tickets are still available.

In addition to all that, we have some more fun and frenetic events coming to Warhammer World for the end of autumn.

The ultimate team-based Warhammer Age of Sigmar tournament returns! Teams of four eager generals – each bringing an army from a different faction – will play five 2,000-point games each over two days, with their combined score deciding which quartet emerges victorious when the dust settles. Lunch is included, and at the end of the tournament, there’ll also be individual awards for sportsmanship, painting, and other categories, so make sure to bring your A-game!

This event takes place on the 8th and 9th of November.

If you like the sound of a team tournament but prefer your bases with more corners, Warhammer: The Old World will also host its own four-person, two-day event just one week later. Here, each player in a team must draw their army from a unique Grand Army or Army of Infamy composition list – so make sure to chat with your teammates to decide who brings what! As ever, lunch will be provided on both days, and extra awards for painting, performance, and sportsmanship will be given out at the end.

This event takes place on the 15th and 16th of November.

As many fans will tell you, Warhammer: The Horus Heresy is fantastic for telling gripping stories of battle and betrayal in exciting narrative games, and this November you’ll be able to take part in one such saga right in the heart of Warhammer World – the Siege of Stromhelm. Declare for the Loyalists or Traitors when you buy your ticket and take your chosen 3,000-point army into battle across four rounds that contribute towards your faction’s overall performance, with extra individual awards up for grabs at the end.

Not only will you get lunch provided on each day, but also a special Faction dinner on Saturday evening with your chosen comrades!

This event takes place on the 22nd and 23rd of November.

The always-popular Throne of Skulls returns to Middle-earth, where you can bring your favourite Good or Evil army and play five casual games over two days of fun and friendly Middle-earth™ Strategy Battle Game action. This more laid-back competition has scoring incentives for the quality of army painting, as well as sportsmanship and generalship, with the overall winner getting the grand trophy at the end.

This event takes place on the 29th and 30th of November.

Searching for a memorable Warhammer 40,000 experience that you can fit into a weekday? Take part in Shifting Fronts, a single-day, three-game tournament where you’ll bring your favourite 1,000-point Incursion army for a series of quick-fire asymmetric battles with changing army lists depending on whether you’re the Attacker or Defender. Awards will be granted for painting, game performance, and sporting conduct.

This event takes place on the 5th of November.

Few things are as satisfying as the clash of ranked armies on the field of battle, and the fifth Warhammer: The Old World: War & Conquest event gives you the chance to face off against three like-minded generals in a single-day event. Build a 1,250-point army and show off your strategic skills, with awards for sportsmanship and painting also up for grabs.

This event takes place on the 26th of November.
