Saturday Pre-orders – The Storm Dragon descends

The imperious Miao Ying has made her way to the Old World to strike at the advancing Chaos armies, bringing with her fleets packed with Jade Warriors, Jade Lancers, and heavy ordnance. You’ll find lore and rules in a new Arcane Journal for the Warhammer: The Old World, while Legions Imperialis gets a shake up with a new supplement and tanks. Finally, two Forge World resin kits appear for Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game™.

Arcane Journal: Dawn of the Storm Dragon

Chaos is on the rise in the Old World, as Frydaal the Chainmaker ravages the northern coasts of the Empire at the head of an ever-growing force of Norscan raiders. It is into this perilous environment that the forces of Grand Cathay arrive, and you can read all about it in Arcane Journal: Dawn of the Storm Dragon. This 48-page softback supplement is full of new background lore, exploring their motivations in the Old World, and their relationship with its inhabitants. You also get rules for the Jade Fleet Army of Infamy, and new magic items. War in Westerland provides new terrain generation rules for battles in the Wasteland and Shadowlands, plus rules for multiplayer games and three new scenarios that you can link into a larger campaign.

Miao Ying, the Storm Dragon

Miao Ying, the Storm Dragon, rules northern Cathay from her seat in Nan-Gau, conducting a tireless defence of the kingdom’s borders. With the threat of Chaos mounting, she now travels the Old World to supervise the armies of Grand Cathay in battle, and to personally tear at the foe with sword-like claws. Even in her human form, she ravages the foe with the power of the Storm Winds, summoning great bolts of lightning to electrocute her foes. This plastic kit contains two miniatures, Miao Ying in her human form and in her dragon form.

Jade Warriors

Every city in Grand Cathay is defended by a force of Jade Warriors. Paid directly from the coffers of each city, these soldiers are equipped with heavy armour and quality weapons, and are the core of Cathayan armies both at home and abroad. This kit builds 20 Jade Warriors, with enough command options for two units of 10. They can be armed with swords and shields or halberds, and there are five male and five female heads for every 5 soldiers. On top of that there are a range of interchangeable accessories, and a Grand Cathay transfer sheet with 404 decals.

Jade Lancers

While Jade Warriors hold the line, their cavalry counterparts ride forward to smash aside foes with deadly momentum. Jade Lancers are experienced soldiers who bring their discipline and training to mounted combat. This kit builds 10 Jade Lancers, with enough command options for two units of five. It comes with a Grand Cathay transfer sheet with 404 decals.

Grand Cannon & Fire Rain Rocket Battery

The armies of Grand Cathay make extensive use of cannon and rocket batteries produced by the noisy workshops of Nan-Gau. The Grand Cannon is a traditional large-bore cannon decorated with a dragon’s head, while the Fire Rain Rocket battery fires devastating swarms of high explosives that send enemies running. This kit can build two Grand Cannons, two Fire Rain Rocket Batteries, or one of each. Both are accompanied by a crew that includes an optional Ogre mercenary.

The Northern Provinces of Grand Cathay Transfer Sheet

Add more beautiful Grand Cathay transfers to your collection with the Northern Provinces of Grand Cathay Transfer Sheet. This A4 sheet contains 261 decals, with both full-colour and metallic printing. They represent the forces of Northern Grand Cathay, making them perfect for soldiers serving Miao Ying, and there are decals for Sky Lantern balloons and wings, as well as banners, cloth, and cloak edges.

Preyton

The woods of the Old World are home to all manner of foul creatures, but few are as horrific as the Preyton. A twisted perversion of the Great Stags, these malicious beasts take great pleasure in tormenting their prey. The Beastmen Brayherds wield this quality to great effect in battle, using them to seed panic through enemy ranks. This Forge World resin kit has rules in Arcane Journal: Beastmen Brayherds.

Liber Strategia

Legions Imperialis is getting a healthy update with the 240-page Liber Strategia. This book contains revised Formations and Detachments for the Legiones Astartes, Solar Auxilia, Mechanicum Taghmata, Dark Mechanicum, Collegia Titanica, and Knight Households – the latter replacing the Strategic Asset rules from the Legions Imperialis rulebook. It is indispensable for all Legions Imperialis players, though the core rules are still required to play the game. It also contains rules for the new vehicles available to pre-order today.

Mastodon Super-heavy Assault Transports

Larger than a Land Raider and with an equally huge transport capacity, the Mastodon Super-heavy Assault Transport is the perfect tip of an armoured spearhead. It is designed to annihilate fortifications with its siege melta array, and disgorge Space Marines right to the heart of battle. This box contains two Mastodon Super-heavy Assault Transports, with a choice of Sponson Mounted lascannons or heavy bolters to go alongside its Skyreaper battery and Sponson Mounted heavy flamers. It contains a Legiones Astartes vehicle transfer sheet with 1,130 decals.

Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyer Squadron

The Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyer Squadron is precisely what it sounds like – tanks designed to blow up other tanks with their powerful neutron laser batteries. This weapon from the Dark Age of Technology slices through armour with impunity, but outputs significant doses of high radiation. This box contains four Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyers, each with a choice of Sponson Mounted lascannons or heavy bolters and Pintle Mounted heavy bolter or multi-melta. It also contains a Legiones Astartes vehicle transfer sheet with 1,130 decals.

Typhon Heavy Siege Tank Squadron

If it’s enemy buildings and strongholds you don’t want to see any more, the Typhon Heavy Siege Tank Squadron should be your first port of call. Armed with a dreadhammer siege cannon, these mobile siege platforms can reduce even the toughest fortifications to piles of rubble in a handful of thundering salvoes. This box contains four Typhon Heavy Siege Tanks, each with a choice of Sponson Mounted lascannons or heavy bolters and Pintle Mounted heavy bolter or multi-melta. It also contains a Legiones Astartes vehicle transfer sheet with 1,130 decals.

Vindicator Siege Tank Squadron

The Vindicator Siege Tank Squadron provides you with a collection of smaller tanks, still able to deal hefty damage to enemy structures with their demolisher cannons. Their size is a plus in dense terrain, allowing them to go where larger vehicles cannot. This box contains eight Vindicator Siege Tanks and a Legiones Astartes vehicle transfer sheet with 1,130 decals.

Whirlwind and Scorpius Missile Tank Squadrons

Add a little high explosive ordnance to your army with Whirlwind and Scorpius Missile Tank Squadrons. The Scorpius fires armour-piercing rockets, while the Whirlwind opts for a wide burst explosive that can be key in flushing units out of their hiding holes. This box contains four Scorpius Missile Tanks, four Whirlwind Missile Tanks and a Legiones Astartes vehicle transfer sheet with 1,130 decals.

Order Tokens and Objective Markers

Mark your Objectives and make your unit Orders clear on the battlefield with this set of 92 plastic tokens. This box contains 86 Order tokens – 20 First Fire, 20 Advance ,16 March, 16 Charge, and 14 Fall Back – alongside six Objective markers, denoting A, B, C, D, E, and F.
