Warhammer art through the years: Thousand Sons

Not all followers of Chaos are vicious raiders or blood-soaked berserkers. Some are more interested in the boundless knowledge promised by the Dark Powers, and the sorcery it grants. Among these aspiring magisters, none are as infamous as the Thousand Sons – scions of the Daemon Primarch Magnus the Red – for whom twisting the fabric of reality comes as easily as breathing.

As part of our ongoing series looking back at the greatest art from the history of Warhammer 40,000, we’re now leafing through great tomes of Tzeentchian lore for some of the less mind-bending artefacts. With the Changer of Ways having a hand in it all, it’s honestly a wonder any of these can be comprehended by human minds, but… we do our best.

That’s only a smattering of the awesome art that accompanies the Thousand Sons, but unfortunately a lot of it is kept in the Black Library by the Harlequins. And no, Ahriman – you’re still not allowed in. Do you have any favourites that didn’t make it into today’s showcase? Let us know on the Warhammer 40,000 Facebook page.

Next time, we’re counteracting this explosion of Chaos energy with the God-Emperor’s most ferocious witch-hunters – the pious Adepta Sororitas.
