Every year, the World Championships of Warhammer event brings top players from around the world together to battle it out on the grandest stage of all, hoping to be crowned the best in the world. It’s an incredible celebration of Warhammer and its players, and this year it will be hosted in beautiful Barcelona.
This is a truly international contest of champions, with every participant having earned their spot at an official qualifier event somewhere in the world. Last year saw 729 players from 48 different countries make it to the championships, playing both for personal glory and their homeland in a fun nation vs. nation leaderboard.

It’s not all serious gaming, though, and new friendships are forged every minute as players from opposite sides of the world share their love of Warhammer. The World Championships have always sought to represent Warhammer fans wherever they can be found. For the last three years we’ve been genuinely honoured to hold the event in Atlanta, USA. The hosts have been wonderful, and the friendship and camraderie they’ve offered everything we could have hoped for. But now it’s time to take this thing international and across the sea to Barcelona.

Taking place from the 3rd to the 6th of December, the World Championships of Warhammer will be hosted at the Fira de Barcelona right in the heart of the city. It’s an even bigger event hall than we’ve used in the past, perfect for the biggest World Championships that we’ve ever hosted. We’ll be inviting more qualifiers than ever before, across Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer Underworlds, and Kill Team.

Barcelona is a beautiful, world-class city with loads to do and convenient travel links for international travellers – with the venue only a 20-minute train journey away from the airport. What’s more, Team Spain tied for first place in last year’s event, so this year’s Championships are a wonderful way to experience the country they hail from.

Your weekend is in good hands, as the same dedicated global team of judges and event specialists who run our Warhammer Open events and the past World Championships will be killing it behind the scenes as usual. They’re hardened veterans with years of experience, and with three excellent World Championships already under their belt, they’re set to make this year’s the best yet.*

Speaking of moving, though – one thing that won’t be is the Grand Narrative, which will be returning to Atlanta and Warhammer World in 2026 bigger and better than ever before. We’ll have more information on this legendary narrative event later in the year, so stay tuned to Warhammer Community for more on both that and the World Championships.
* Don’t worry if you’re not up to speed on your Spanish – the official language for the events, announcements, and rules packs is English, to accommodate the largest number of players possible from across the globe.
