Warhammer art through the years: The Inquisition

Of all the organisations that work tirelessly to keep the Imperium alive and kicking in the 41st Millennium, the Inquisition are by far the most secretive and inscrutable. Their scattered and individualistic nature means that no two Inquisitors are quite alike in how they look or act, and a side-effect of this is that they’ve inspired a mind-boggling variety of artwork over the history of Warhammer 40,000.

Today, we’ve collected just a few of the awesome pieces created for Warhammer over the years – dragged from the depths of the Inquisitorial archives.

If there’s one thing that’s clear from all of these, it’s that being on the receiving end of an Inquisitor’s attention is unpleasant at best – even if your name is Celestine. Especially if your name is Celestine.

Next week we’re continuing to mill around the organisations known collectively as the Imperial agents. We’ll be braving the halls of the Officio Assassinorum and a few other hangers-on.

If you've been inspired by these iconic images from the worlds of Warhammer, why not check out the official Warhammer Art store? The collection includes fine prints, collector’s pieces and exclusive merchandise featuring some of your favourite art.
