It’s time to change location in Warhammer Underworlds, as we swap the choking, claustrophobic warrens of Embergard for the choking, claustrophobic warrens of the Spitewood. Look, you won’t bring the best out of your warbands by fighting in a beautiful, serene meadow. This expansion provides a new way to play the game of cards and combat, and is accompanied by the return of 16 existing warbands. Those who want their battles a little more sprawling can take the chance to jump on new Legions Imperialis Combat Forces.

Hack your way through the dense vegetation of Ghyran in the new Warhammer Underworlds expansion, Spitewood. This box contains two new warbands, two new Rivals decks, a double-sided board representing the arboreal nightmare known as the Spitewood, a token sheet, and a 16-page book with background lore and some new rules for playing in this vital domain.

You can attempt to defend the realm with Kurnoth’s Heralds, a trio of peerless centauroid hunters, or raze it to the ground with the Blood of the Bull, a group of Chaos duardin out for revenge, accompanied by a backstabbing hobgrot lackey. These are Strike and Mastery warbands respectively, pairing with the two new Rivals decks, Hunting Grounds and Deadly Synergy.
You can also explore new ways to play with a set of four new bundle boxes containing existing warbands. All of these boxes include the warscroll card and fighter cards for each warband.
In order to use the contents of this box, you’ll need a copy of Warhammer Underworlds: Embergard.
Seekers in Shadow
Order doesn’t always play nice, and the Seekers in Shadow are warbands willing to pursue their goals ruthlessly. This box contains Xandire’s Truthseekers, the Shadeborn, the Starblood Stalkers and Elathain’s Soulraid, with all their fighter cards and warscroll cards.
Reavers of Ruin
The forces of Chaos love nothing more than to sow, well, chaos everywhere, and the Reavers of Ruin are ready to do just that. This box contains the Gnarlspirit Pack, Skittershank’s Clawpack, the Thricefold Discord, and the Wurmspat, plus all their fighter and warscroll cards.
Morbid Minions
Death is as inevitable as failing that one dice roll you needed to score your final Objective card, a truth the Morbid Minions stoically accept. This box contains the Exiled Dead, the Sons of Velmorn, the Skinnerkin, and the Thorns of the Briar Queen, as well as their fighter cards and warscroll cards.
Gitz and Goliaths
Whether big or small, the forces of Destruction love nothing more than smashing heads and stealing shiny stuff. This box contains Hrothgorn’s Mantrappers, Rippa’s Snarlfangs, Mollog’s Mob, and Zarbag’s Gitz, alongside their warscroll cards and fighter cards.
Warbands of Spitewood
If you’ve got some, or even all, of the above warbands already, then you can get their updated fighter and warscroll cards with the Warbands of Spitewood box. The cards visually differ slightly to those contained within the four boxes above, with photography of the warbands on the reverse of each warscroll card.

The Border Princes feel the rumble of war as Settra the Imperishable marches through them to reach the mountain range known as the Vaults, which sits upon Bretonnia’s southern border. You can follow his warpath across the Old World in Arcane Journal: The War of Settra's Fury, a 48-page softback book that couples this narrative with new rules. The game mode Battle March lets you field armies of just 500-750 points, with force limitations, three deployment maps, and changes to scoring.
The Tomb Kings of Khemri also widen their repertoire with rules for monstrous mounts and new incantations for the Mortuary Cult, while two Armies of Infamy provide options for the Empire of Man and the Dwarfen Mountain Holds in the form of Renegade Crowns and Slayer Host armies.
Liche Priests
The Tomb Kings’ armies would be naught but dust and bone were it not for the powerful Liche Priests. Thanks to their mastery of necromantic magic, they are able to raise great armies for their cruel monarchs, which they support in battle by casting powerful spells rooted in Nehekharan lore. This box contains two new plastic Liche Priests, one on foot and one mounted on a barded skeletal steed. Each has a number of interchangeable options, including four heads, a pair of scales that can be swapped across both models, and a choice of staff toppers. The priest on foot also has options for a magic effect base topper and a magical floating scroll.
Royal Heralds
The royalty of Nehekhara rarely shy away from battle, leading great armies to claim what is rightfully theirs. Tomb Princes are powerful warriors in their own right, often seeking to prove their martial might in combat, and like their Tomb King masters they are often accompanied by an entourage that includes Royal Heralds – banner bearers who represent their liege on the battlefield.
This kit builds both a plastic Tomb Prince and a Royal Herald – with your choice of which one walks and which is mounted on a skeletal steed. Both have a number of cosmetic options, including a cape and collar, chest decorations, right hand choices including two hand weapons and an empty hand, left hand options including battle standard, shield, or great weapon, and two head options for both the Tomb Prince and Royal Herald.

Battlefield scenery is a key part of Warhammer, and October’s issue of White Dwarf is packed with showcases of terrain collections and tips on how to make your own.* There is plenty more to enjoy as well, with a brand new Tale of Four Warlords starting up for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, rules for cavalry battles in Warhammer 40,000 and aerial battles in the Mortal Realms, and new Kill Team rules for fighting on Necron tomb worlds of various flavours. There is also a new mission for the Space Marine Operations game mode where you fight a Carnifex, a brilliant showcase of a T’au Empire army, and a haunting short story by Jake Ozga.

The Space Marines protect the Imperium against threats from within and without, clad in nigh-impervious armour and wielding terrifying weapons. They are iconic, and our partners at TOMY have taken these fearsome Angels of Death and made them somehow… soft, and cuddly. Of course, being a Space Marine, it’s impressively large, coming in at 14” tall, 10” wide, and 7” deep, sure to tower over other plush toys.
We are undecided on whether the Space Marine Plush is heresy or not, but we do think he will make a wonderful guardian for your hobby room.
Gloomspite Gitz Plush
The Gloomspite Gitz are furtive creatures who live in the damp and dark of the Mortal Realms, sometimes driven mad by the light of the Bad Moon that careens around the skies. You can get your own cuddly craven companion with the Gloomspite Gitz Plush from TOMY, a cantankerous looking little fella who will be right at home in your hobby room, so long as you keep the lights low.
Blood Bowl Ball Plush
Blood Bowl is a game of pure sports mayhem, and at the centre of it all is the ball. We’ve spent many gaming hours picking it up, throwing it, fumbling it, dropping it, and ignoring it in favour of an all-consuming brawl across the pitch. Now the Blood Bowl Ball Plush from TOMY gives us a chance to play pretend with a soft version of the spiked pigskin, without any of the blood, sweat, and tears your teams have to go through.
