Saturday Pre-orders – The monstrous and mechanical battle in the Horus Heresy

The monstrous and the mechanical are getting ready to enter the fray of the Horus Heresy in today’s pre-orders, as Angron Transfigured and the Skitarii Battle Group provide two different flavours of enhanced mortals. There are also Made to Order releases for Warriors of Chaos, two Commemorative Series miniatures, and a new supplement and terrifying Shelob miniature for the Middle-earth™ Strategy Battle Game.

Angron Transfigured

Arriving on gigantic wings of fury, Angron Transfigured swoops into battle, ready to tear whole armies of Loyalist Adeptus Astartes to pieces. A little larger than his usual Primarch miniature, Angron is depicted fully transformed into his Daemon form. He comes with a scenic base scattered with optional decorations like a Blood Angels banner and the corpse of a slain IX Legion Space Marine. This miniature is made from Forge World resin, and is an expert kit recommended for experienced hobbyists.

Lotara Sarrin, Mistress of the Conqueror

There are some who would be bold enough to say that many of the World Eaters’ greatest successes in the later years of the Great Crusade were down to Lotara Sarrin, Mistress of the Conqueror, rather than Angron himself. They’d probably whisper it a long way from the Red Angel, though. Captain of Angron’s flagship, the Conqueror, and able to call in brutal orbital strikes, she’s a valuable asset for any World Eaters army. This miniature has no options, and is made of Forge World resin.

Skitarii Battle Group

In the wake of the Warmaster’s treachery, the Mechanicum has divided and its rival halves have pledged allegiance to the Traitor and Loyalist forces, with Skitarii serving both the Traitor Fabricator General and his Loyalist counterpart. The Skitarii Battle Group contains a Battle-Pilgrym Marshal, who has a choice of weapon and head options, and 16 multi-part plastic Skitarii Battle-Pilgryms, the heavily augmented shock troops designed for unceasing war and endless pilgrimages for technological artefacts. They are accompanied by a Vultarax Stratos-automata, which hovers high above the marching cohort. This set also contains a Mechanicum Macro Constructs transfer sheet containing 394 transfers.

Journal Tactica: Skitarii: The Steel Hand of Mars

You can discover more about the Skitarii conclaves and how the Battle-Pilgryms conduct themselves in Journal Tactica: Skitarii: The Steel Hand of Mars. This 48-page softback supplement for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy contains rules for the new units in the Skitarii Battle Group, alongside an army list for using them as a standalone army or as part of a Mechanicum Taghmata army, sub-faction rules, the Relic Hunt Missions pack, which contains three new missions, and a Legendary Mission – The Vaults of Tharsis.

The Path of Cirith Ungol™: Shelob™ & Gollum™

Bring the monstrous Shelob to the tabletop alongside the covetous and sneaky Gollum with The Path of Cirith Ungol: Shelob & Gollum. This set contains three new plastic miniatures: a terrifying and huge new version of Shelob, as well as the treacherous Gollum and a webbed-up version of Frodo, which can be used as an objective marker in the Bravery of Master Samwise scenario found in the new Treachery of Gollum journal.

Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game Journal: The Treachery of Gollum

You can relive the events of Frodo and Sam’s encounter with Shelob and Gollum in Middle-earth™ Strategy Battle Game Journal: The Treachery of Gollum, a new 48-page softback supplement. It contains nine new Narrative Scenarios that let you play through key events from the film The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King™, plus rules for playing them as part of a campaign that has the outcome of each scenario impact the next. There are also extensive hobby guides, including  ’Eavy Metal guides to painting Gollum and Shelob, plus instructions on how to create Shelob’s Lair, as well as tips on creating stagnant pools for the Dead Marshes, or using existing Gondor terrain kits to create sewers for one of the scenarios in the supplement.

Foot Knights of Dol Amroth™

Amongst the finest warriors in Gondor, the Swan Knights of Dol Amroth are renowned for their valour, peerless swordsmanship, and their shining armour. This set of six Forge World resin miniatures contains a Captain of Dol Amroth, a Knight with the Banner upgrade, a Knight with the War Horn upgrade, and three Knights with shields and hand weapons (or, if you prefer, they can all be assembled as Knights with shields and hand weapons).

Each set includes three each of three shield designs that can be equipped to any miniature, as well as four optional unhelmeted heads. Rules for these models can be found in the Armies of Middle-earth book.

Cirith Ungol™ Dice Set

You can complement your Evil army with this Cirith Ungol dice set, which contains eight matching dice, cast in smoky black plastic with white pips and a spider-like icon on the six face to represent Shelob herself.

Pledge yourself to the Ruinous Powers and expand the ranks of your Warriors of Chaos army with a new selection of Made to Order miniatures. Smash aside ranks of enemies with a Chaos Chariot that contains both metal and plastic components, or lead a mighty charge of armoured knights with a metal Chaos Lord on Chaos Steed. A cabal of three metal Chaos Sorcerers allow you to cast powerful spells, and a metal Chaos Sorcerer with Lore Familiar does the same but comes with a weird little guy for added style. Finally, a pack of five metal Chaos Warhounds are perfect for hunting down stragglers.
