Sunday Preview – Knights, ravens, and robots

The galaxy shakes as the Imperial Knights make their move, having chivalrously allowed the Chaos Knights to go first. They are joined by new releases for the Imperial Fists and Raven Guard, as well as solo releases for the Thousand Sons and Grey Knights.

Codex: Imperial Knights

The Knight houses have pledged their lances to the Imperium, noble pilots and towering war machines bringing terrible glory and power in the name of the Emperor.

Lead the households in their quest for valour with a 112-page book that contains the army rules, datasheets, and four detachments for your Imperial Knights in games of Warhammer 40,000, as well as background lore, art, and photography, plus rules for conducting a Chivalric Quest in Crusade games.

For those with ironclad oaths of loyalty, there is a special collector’s edition available that features a soft-touch cover, unique cover art, a ribbon bookmark, and dark blue foil edges.

Knight Questoris

Imperial Knights come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common are those of the Knight Questoris pattern. This armoured frame provides the perfect blend of mobility and defence, which can be adapted into a range of configurations.

This plastic kit can build one of the following: a Knight Paladin, a Knight Crusader, a Knight Warden, a Knight Errant, and a Knight Gallant, as well as the Chaos Knight Despoiler.

An additional sprue, meanwhile, builds the new Knight Defender with a conversion beam obliterator, plasma executor, and phosphor blaster. It includes a Knight Questoris transfer sheet comprising 302 decals.

Knight Preceptor / Canis Rex

The Knight Preceptor is an especially deadly machine that embodies the Code Chivalric. Reserved for the most decorated pilots, they set a fearsome example for younger Nobles. Sir Hekhtur, meanwhile, is a legendary warrior who pilots the Canis Rex – a Freeblade known across the galaxy for its victories.

This set can build one of the following: a Knight Preceptor, Canis Rex with Sir Hekhtur, Knight Paladin, Knight Crusader, Knight Warden, Knight Errant, Knight Gallant, or Chaos Knight Despoiler. It includes an upgrade sprue that can build a Knight Preceptor or Canis Rex, as well as a Knight Questoris transfer sheet comprising 302 decals.

Imperial Knight Datasheets and Dice Set

Master the dizzying array of weapons and abilities available to the Imperial Knights with this set of 13 quick reference cards covering 12 datasheets and the army rule. A set of 16 pearlised yellow dice themed around House Hawkshroud, with black ink pips and the Imperial Knight icon on the six face, will complete your collection.

Aethon Shaan

Patient, pragmatic, cunning, and deadly in equal measure, Aethon Shaan is the Chapter Master of the Raven Guard. An exemplar of the Chapter who embodies Corvus Corax’s legacy in all things, Shaan is equipped with the Blackwing Mantle, which allows him and his unit to use the Rapid Ingress and Heroic Intervention Stratagems for 0CP, and the lightning-wreathed Claws of Severax. This kit comes with three head options: a half mask, a helmet, and a bare, hooded face.

Combat Patrol: Raven Guard

The Raven Guard are masters of stealth and infiltration, and the Shadow Claw Kevarax brings these qualities to smaller games of Warhammer 40,000. This Combat Patrol contains a Jump Pack Captain and five Jump Pack Intercessors, backed up by 10 Infiltrators and an Invictor Tactical Warsuit. There are two new Raven Guard transfer sheets, each comprising 326 transfers. Rules for the Combat Patrol will be available for free on Warhammer Community.

Darnath Lysander

As Captain of the Imperial Fists’ First Company, Darnath Lysander is a bulwark of unflinching resolve. He leads legendary Terminator assaults, wading into enemy lines with the storm shield Rampart held high as he swings the Fist of Dorn. This kit contains two head options: a bare face and a Terminator helmet.

Combat Patrol: Imperial Fists

Rampart Force Torreus is the Imperial Fists’ new Combat Patrol. A Captain leads a cohort of Company heroes, battle brothers who have earned the right to fight alongside their leader, at the head of five Terminators, five Intercessors, and five Heavy Intercessors. This box also contains a new Imperial Fists transfer sheet comprising 507 transfers. Rules will be available for free on Warhammer Community.

Raven Guard and Imperial Fists Dice Sets

Round out your Raven Guard and Imperial Fists collections with two themed sets of 16 dice. The Raven Guard dice are pearlised black with pale blue ink and the Chapter icon on the six face, while the Imperial Fists dice are pearlised yellow with black ink, and the Chapter icon on the six face.

Sekhetar Robots

Automatons created by the Thousand Sons to guard temples, ritual grounds, and other sites of power, Sekhetar Robots are inscribed with runes of obfuscation and enchanted with spells of illusion. They hide from view, patiently standing guard until trespassers awaken them, at which point they unleash their arcane weapons. This kit can build two Sekhetar Robots, which are equipped with heavy warpflamers, hellfyre missile racks, and pyreflux meltaguns – the latter of which can be replaced with power claws.

Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight

The Grey Knights protect the Imperium from the constant threat of Chaos daemons. The Nemesis Dreadknight is one of the most effective tools in their powerful arsenal, placing a veteran of the Chapter or even a Grand Master in an armoured exoskeleton of clandestine provenance. Its devastating armaments are empowered by the psychic prowess of its user, further amplifying its destructive potential.

This kit builds a Nemesis Dreadknight or a Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight, and contains an upgrade sprue that includes new weapons like the Nemesis mace, Nemesis flail, and sublimator, as well as a host of new cosmetic enhancements.

Ciaphas Cain: The Anthology

Ciaphas Cain is known far and wide as a hero – he is brave, stalwart, uncompromising, and all that good stuff. Inquisitor Amberley Vail may be the only person other than Cain who knows the truth about him, as she dives once more into the archives to present her findings. Ciaphas Cain: The Anthology contains one novella and 13 short stories by Sandy Mitchell, including Fight or Flight, Traitor’s Gambit, The Smallest Detail, The Bigger They Are, and Rotten to the Core. It is available to pre-order next week in paperback format.

The Horus Heresy – Siege of Terra: Omnibus III (German)

German readers can continue their journey through the Siege of Terra series with Omnibus III, which collects books five and six of the series – Mortis by John French and Warhawk by Chris Wraight – into one volume. It will be available to order in paperback format next week.

Fulgrim: The Perfect Son (German)

The Primarch of the Emperor’s Children has set his sons a challenge: conquer the Imperial world of Crucible, and bring him the head of the Black Templar charged with its defence. It’s nothing so straightforward, however, and the gruelling siege tests the loyalty of his followers, making them question what they are willing to sacrifice for their Primarch. German readers can enjoy Fulgrim: Perfect Son in paperback soon.

The Horus Heresy: Collection XVII (French)

The Horus Heresy continues for French readers with the upcoming release of Collection XVII, which contains books 49, 50, and 51 in French. That’s Wolfsbane by Guy Haley, the anthology Born of Flame by Nick Kyme, and Slaves to Darkness by John French, all in one hardback volume.

Eidolon: The Auric Hammer (French)

Primus Eidolon has suffered many indignities and many triumphs, and even now carves a path to Terra where the final battle of the Heresy awaits. A mind-twisting entity in the warp has different plans for him, though, and Eidolon is stranded on Tatricala, where spectres of his past haunt him and his future rests on a knife edge. Only the Auric Hammer can choose his fate, and how much of his soul he is willing to sacrifice. Eidolon: The Auric Hammer by Marc Collins is available to preorder next week in hardback format for French readers.

On Warhammer TV this week you can make the most of your subscription with three new episodes – and don’t forget that new subscriber miniatures are on their way. On Painting Desk, Ed checks in with ’Eavy Metal painter Damien, who covers topics from extensive converting and resculpting to intricate freehand.

Loremasters continues plumbing the limitless depths of the Horus Heresy with an episode that delves into the origins of Saturnine armour, and how the Primarch Vulkan later refined it for more practical use. There’s more Horus Heresy action for you to enjoy with the first episode of A Tale of Four Traitors.

On Warhammer Community this week, we’ll be taking a closer look at this month’s issue of White Dwarf, and the lore of Darnath Lysander and Aethon Shaan. With our retrospective on Warhammer Age of Sigmar over, we’ll be catching a glimpse of the future and what the Helsmiths of Hashut have in store for us.
