Sunday Preview – Get into the melee with Assault Terminators and Chaos Marauders

Who doesn’t love a good brawl? The long-awaited Assault Terminators are finally ready to give xenos and heretics a good hammering, while Chaos Marauders sweep down from the northern wastes and terrorise the World of Legend. Luckily, an assortment of classic Empire State Troops are ready to meet them, and from the rubble of the Siege of Terra, a new Black Library series emerges into an uncertain galaxy. Products in this pre-order will be available to pre-order on Saturday the 22nd of November, unless otherwise stated.

Ferren Areios

Forged in the fires of the Indomitus Crusade, the Captain of the Ultramarines 6th Company, Ferren Areios, will soon be available to buy as a Black Library miniature. He appears in the Master of Rites novel, which is also available for pre-order this week. Armed with the thunder hammer ‘Honour’, he was chosen by his Primarch to lead his brothers in battle. This is your first chance to buy this miniature – this model is currently only available while stocks last, and will have Legends rules available online soon.

Ancient in Terminator Armour

Space Marines frequently carry their sacred banners into battle as a symbol of their unshakeable might. These big flags attract a lot of attention, and so it makes sense you’d want a guy in big armour to protect them. The Ancient in Terminator Armour is just that, and this plastic kit features two banner topper options, two right arm poses, and a choice of four heads – one helmet, one half-helmet, and two bare.*

Terminator Assault Squad

Few things are as terrifying as the brutal charge of an Assault Terminator squad. Clad in incredibly tough Tactical Dreadnought Armour, they are deployed to break enemy lines or to perform decisive boarding actions, using paired lightning claws and thunder hammers to shred or crush their foes.

This kit contains five Assault Terminators that can be equipped with either lightning claws or the potent thunder hammer and storm shield combo. All the Terminators have interchangeable arms, and the kit also comes with six unique heads, five helmets, five tilting plates, and 15 decorative accessories. The box also contains a Teleport Homer, and a Space Marines infantry transfer sheet containing 758 decals.

Suboden Khan

Riding atop the grav bike Thunder, Suboden Khan leads the veteran Outriders of the White Scars’ First Brotherhood in swift charges that live up to their Chogorian heritage. Famed for his skill in hunting down pernicious foes, and running down enemies that attempt to flee from his brothers’ lightning fast assaults, he wields both power sword and the glaive Stormtooth with exceptional skill. This miniature, previously available in Combat Patrol: White Scars, comes with a choice of helmeted and unhelmeted heads.

Chaos Marauders Army Reinforcement Set

In the frozen wastes of the north, beyond the Sea of Claws, hard-bitten warrior tribes worship primordial spirits, which are in fact the Ruinous Powers in disguise. Whispers of greatness stoke the fire of war within them, and thus the Chaos Marauders make the perilous journey to raze civilisation to the ground. Wrap yourself in furs, pick up your weapon of choice, and join in with the Chaos Marauders Army Reinforcement Set.

This packed box contains 40 new Chaos Marauders for Warriors of Chaos armies, with enough options to build four units of 10, each with full command options. These martial hordes can be equipped with either hand weapons and shields, great weapons, or flails. Each miniature also has a choice of two heads to add variety to your units. 10 Marauder Horseman can be built as two units of five, each with full command options, and armed with either spears and shields or flails, and there are 13 head options per five miniatures. This box also contains two new Warriors of Chaos transfer sheets, each with 246 decals that allow you to pledge allegiance to the Bloodied Hound, Carrion Crow, Slithering Serpent, or Fell Raptor.

It also contains new profiles and rules for Marauder Tribes, including Chaotic Traits, Chaotic Cults, Lore of the Shadowlands, plus Artefacts of the Shadowlands – new common magic items. A Path to Glory section provides rules for taking armies from a 500-point force to a great warhost over the course of a campaign, with your units and heroes gaining experience and abilities over time. There are also three historical recreation scenarios included. To use the Warriors of Chaos rules you’ll need Ravening Hordes and Arcane Journal: Warriors of Chaos, and to play Path to Glory campaigns you will need Arcane Journal: The War of Settra’s Fury.

Ashes of the Imperium

The Warmaster Horus is dead. Terra lies in ruins, and the Emperor is silent. It is a new and uncertain dawn, and as the survivors pick through the ruins of the Imperial Palace, the remnants of Horus’ Grand Armada attempt to escape vengeance. Some believe this is an opportunity for peace, but wiser folk recognise that this war will never end, and all that remains to be seen is who rises to rule over the ruin left by the flames of the Horus Heresy.

Ashes of the Imperium by Chris Wraight is the first book to explore the Scouring, the aftermath of the devastating civil war that rocked the galaxy. It is available to pre-order next week in a premium edition that features a leather effect cover, with screen-printed artwork, a metal emblem featuring the logos of the Ultramarines, Word Bearers, Iron Warriors, and Imperial Fists, foil blocking details, silver page edges, and a black ribbon bookmark. Inside you’ll find a colour insert of the standard cover art, full-colour art of Rogal Dorn and Roboute Guilliman in a tarot style, character portraits, and four pieces of black and white art that accompany the story.

This is your first chance to buy this edition, which is currently only available while stocks last. If this sells out in a blur, as these things are known to do, we'll look to do a restock in the near future, so don't panic.

You can also discover what happens in the aftermath of the Siege of Terra in either hardback format, which is available to pre-order on Saturday, or eBook and MP3 audiobook formats, which are available to pre-order on Friday.

Master of Rites by Rob Young will be available to pre-order next week in a special edition that features screen-printed art with foil details, silver page edges, and a blue ribbon bookmark. Every copy is uniquely numbered, signed by the author, and contains an author’s afterword and additional short story ‘Sanctioned Death’. This edition is available while stocks last.

On Warhammer TV this week, John French is joining Alex for a chat on Scribes and Scriveners, where they discuss John’s writing process and how he approached penning novels in the epic Horus Heresy and Siege of Terra series.

On Citadel Colour Masterclass Ed provides a selection of guides for painting elements of the Helsmiths of Hashut, including their metallic armour, desaturated gems, and their infamous horned helmets. There’s more Zharrdron action in Battle Report, as these arrogant despots take on the Sons of Behemat, in order to prove once and for all that height is no advantage in war.

There'll also be a trailer for the second half of Blacktalon season 2 dropping on Wednesday, so stay tuned for that!

On Warhammer Community we’re making a humble offering to the Omnissiah with a new reveal, taking a closer look at the rules of Warhammer Quest: Darkwater, and finding out more about Ferren Areios.
