Take up your Omnissian Axe and wade into battle with the first brand new class for the endlessly fun Operations mode of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 – the Techmarine. This master of technology is equally at home blazing away with mid-ranged weapons or crushing skulls in melee combat, and they’re ready to play right now in the latest free update alongside a brand new PvE mission.
New class: Techmarine

Coming as part of Patch 12, Techmarines have a mighty arsenal at their disposal and make great use of their unique class ability – a backpack-mounted Servo-Gun. This mind-slaved weapon can unleash hails of bolter fire while the Techmarine is doing their own thing, including performing Gun Strikes on staggered opponents without needing to pause.
When times get tough, Techmarines can also repair Tarantula turrets found around the mission maps to lend a measure of fire support. They’re playable in both PvE Operations and PvP Eternal War modes, and if you’re (un)lucky enough to find yourself on the Chaos side, you’ll get to step into the boots of a Red Corsairs Warpsmith.
Raven Guard Champion Pack
Fans of the Raven Guard can also get their hands on a new cosmetic Champion Pack that adds an immensely cool outfit, perfect for the Assault class – with elements wearable by other classes too. It’s dripping with avian details and emblems of the Raven Guard, including a unique MkVI helmet, feathered shoulder pad, a unique Bolt Pistol skin and plenty of bones hanging from chains and cords.

You can wear the whole suit to really show off your allegiance to the sons of Corvus Corax, or mix and match the parts with other cosmetics to create your own personal Chapter champion. Owners of the Year 2 Season Pass will get it right away, and all other players can pick it up as and when they like.
The Raven Guard are rightly renowned as some of the greatest hunters in the galaxy, but they’re not the only ones coming to Space Marine 2 with an eye for stalking prey.
Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack
It’s not often that the Carcharodons come in from the darkness of the galactic rim, but when they do, they leave a legacy of brutal slaughter that shakes even their fellow Space Marines. Many of their warriors are known to adorn themselves with trophies and tooth emblems that match their predatorial shark-like sensibilities, and now you can too with a new Cosmetic Pack.
This pack contains a wealth of thematic armour pieces draped in teeth, claws, and skulls, that can be worn in two different styles – splattered in enemy blood (probably the more lore-accurate choice), or clean as a whistle.
New Operations mission: Disruption
Take the fresh class and cosmetics out for a real test run in the chaotic new mission Disruption, which finds Squad Veridian split between two duties when a mission to reinforce Cadians under assault by the Tyranids is complicated by the Thousand Sons profaning a nearby cathedral with a mystic ritual. Neither one of these critical tasks can be ignored without risking a domino effect that would doom the entire world – but does Veridian have the time to win on both fronts?
This new mission comes with a host of improvements rolled out across the Operations game mode, such as new modifiers for the Stratagems mode, new slow-burn Restorative Stimms, and the ability to swap the default heads across all of the character classes.
The update also marks the release of Space Marine 2’s Chapter Voice Pack 1 adding over 1300 voicelines re-recorded in the unique styles of the Blood Angels, Space Wolves and Black Templars chapters. It comes with three unique Space Marine faces to be equipped and swapped onto any of the game’s classes, as faces are no longer class-locked and can now be applied to all available characters!
Jump right into Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 now and check out all of the changes for yourself, and don’t forget – you can now play on Game Pass too, so if you don’t have it already, the best time to start is now!
